We regret to announce the death of Joyce Winnie Udo Ogai, on Thursday 13th May, 2021.

The devoted wife of the late Francis Edward Ogai Ombura. Loving mother of the late Donna, Joseline and Gloria, Nathaniel and Lizzy, the late Jack and Christine, Isaac and Margaret, Christopher and the late Dorcas. Grandmother of Jeff and Melody, Akinyi, Elma, Daisy, Joy, Kiproo Ogai, Lisa, Noel and John. Great-grandmother of Joshua and Jessica.

Daughter to the late Christopher and the late Wilikister Olondo, and step daughter to the late Pelesia and the late Mary Olondo. Sisters are Jane Odhiambo, the late Dorothy Gogo, the late Peris Genga, Lilian Adhiambo, Lilian Atieno, the late Dorothy Anyango and others. Brothers are the late John and Susan Obora, Ronald Lydia and Florence Amolo, the late Gordon, Frederick and Margaret Juma, Johnson and Jennifer Otieno, Francis and Florence Ongond’o, James and Celestine Otieno, the late Dominic Onyango and others.

Niece to the late Peter Oranga, the late Solomon Owango, the late Robert Owour, the late Humphrey Aomo, Elpher Ocholla, among others. Cousin of the late Miruka Owour, the late Kassim Owango, the late Joseph Amuti, Russel Oranga, Tinshop Owour, Eunice Akach, among others. Sister-in-law of Frederick Odhiambo, the late Johnstone Gogo, the late Richard Genga, among others. Matriarch of the Jok Ombura and Jok Ongogo, the greater Kiriko family and the Kalando clan of Kano.

The cortege leaves the Avenue Hospital mortuary Kisumu on Friday 21st May, 2021 for a funeral service at 8.00am, at St Anne’s ACK Church Orije and thereafter the burial will take place at her home at Withur, Kabonyo Kanyagwal Ward, Kisumu County from 9:00am.
