Judith Awuor Onyango (Mama Ethan)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judith Awuor Onyango (Mama Ethan) of Airtel Kenya, which occurred on 29th  August 2025 after a short illness.

Beloved wife of Philemon Oloo Mitende (Jamii Telecommunication Ltd – JTL), and loving mother of the late Ethan Elroy, Amarrah Anne, Ivan Peter, Arianna Adhiambo, Leon, and Barry John Oloo.

Daughter of Mr. Aggrey Siter Onyango, the late Anne Aloo Aluoch, and Mary Onyango of Ugenya, Yenga. Daughter-in-law of Peter Onyango Oura, Phoebe Atieno Onyango, and the late Mary Onyango of West Asembo, Ndege Village.

Dear sister of the late Fredrick Ochieng, Hassan Faisal, the late Betty Onyango, Elizabeth Hattoh, Jacinta Onyango, Abubakar Odhiambo, Salim Ohonde, Hellen Onyango, Mary Akoth, Mumsellaine Onyango, Farouk Otieno, and Jamie Onyango.

Sister-in-law of Mariam Abubakar, Eunice Muli Ohonde, Myles Lubanga, the late Fredrick Otieno, David Onyango, Caroline Achieng, George Juma, Paul Odhiambo, Teresa Akoth, Marceline Anyango, Macrine Auma, Alfred Ochieng, Judith Akinyi, Oscar Odhiambo, Lavender Olum, Kevin Ougo and Elsa Awino among others.

She was a loving aunt of Kassim, Zandy, Jonathan, Adams, Stephany, Aisha, Abdul, Shamirn, Brian, Ziyanda, Brandley, Nunya, Mikayla, Day, Ayanda, Lovi, Cate, Greg, Britney,Wendy, Kevin, Meril, Brandly,Trevor, and many others, and a dear friend to many.

Judith touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She will be remembered for her selfless heart, strong faith, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily from 5:00pm at their residence, Junction Apartments Phase One, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

There will be a fundraising (Harambee) on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 atAll Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, from 5:00pm.

A Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi, on Thursday, 11 September 2025, at 9:00am.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Friday, 12 September 2025, for her home in Asembo, Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County, where the burial will take place on Saturday, 13 September 2025.
