Ken Njiri Ndegwa

1953 – 2026

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Ken N. Ndegwa who passed away on Friday, 6th February 2026.

Loving husband of Perpetuah Wangan Njeru, Deputy Director, Ministry of Education Sate Department for Technical, Vocational Education & Training. Caring father of Anthony Ndegwa,  Melly Wanjiru and Charles Njeru. A doting grandfather of Ryan Mari.

Son of the late Japhlete Mwangi Macharia (Ndegwa) and the late Rosemary Waniiru Mwangi. Brother of the late Irungu, late Nyambura, late Kihara, late Gichimu, Late Maina, Margaret Wangari, Nancy Wambaire and Donald Chege.

Son-in-law of the late H.J. Njeru Thuku and Jecinta Waihuini Meru. Brother-in-law of Thuku, Kiguta, Kogi, Kimani (late), Kiiru, Wamugunda (late), Waweru, Nyambura, Thiong’ o„ Mwangi, Njora & Raing’wa.

There will be a memorial mass on Thursday, 12th February 2026, at Madre Teresa Catholic Church, Zimmerman, from 7.00 pm.

The cortege leaves the Kenyatta University Teaching & Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) mortuary on Saturday, 14th February 2026 at 8.00am for a funeral service at the Gitweku Primary School grounds, followed by burial at his farm in Gitweku Village, Murang’a County.

Eternal rest grant unto him, 0 Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
