Lauryn Nyaboke Makori

It is with deep sorrow but firm hope in the resurrection morning that we announce the peaceful passing of Lauryn Nyaboke Makori, who fell asleep in Jesus on 16th July 2025.

Lauryn was the beloved daughter of Advocate James T. Makori and Dr. Hildah Oburu. Sister to Amy Moraa, Sheena Kerubo and Jonathan Omuya.

She was the treasured granddaughter of Benjamin Makori and the late Josephine Nyaboke of Tombe, and of Davison Kibegwa Oburu, Ruth Kerubo Oburu, and Alice Kemunto Oburu.

Lauryn was a dearly loved niece of the late David, Zipporah, Eunice, Walter, the late Douglas, John, Lilian Kemuma,Asande Ogeto, Edna, Lewis, Regina, Cineth, Nelly, Raymond, Mercy, and Seth.

She was a beloved cousin of many, including Dr. Atuya, Babu, Brian, Nyaboke, Prudence, Kemuma, Obonyo, Ashley, Rangi, Ontobo, Gait, Bathsheba, Edel, Lesley, Lionel, Livia, Kyle, Keila, Kaylee,Ashley,Tiffany,Amanda,Tatiana, Michael, Gabriela, Isaac, Annette, Anne Viola, Peter, Kate, Terence, Alyssa, Frank, Ruth, Israel, Loanne, Many, Elsie, Enosh, Ivan, and Arianna.

Lauryn was pursuing a degree in Economics and Statistics at the University of Nairobi and an alumnus of The Kenya High School, Class of 2020, fondly known as “SDA One.”

She is survived by her loving parents, siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, church family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory and the legacy of light she leaves behind.

A fundraising to offset hospital and funeral expenses will be held on Tuesday, 29th July 2025 at the Nairobi Central SDA Church (Maxwell) , Old Sanctuary, (opposite 4 EACC) at 5.30 PM.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 30th July 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Life SDA Church, 5th Ngong Avenue, Nairobi.

The cortege departs Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 31′ July at 7:00 AM for her parents’ home in Riensune – Nyansiongo, Nyamira County, where the burial service will take place on Friday 1st August 2025.
