Lawrence Ichagichu Mwangi

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Lawrence Ichagichu Mwangi, on 21st December, 2022, retired Director of Kenya National Archives and Documentation Service.

Son of the late Mwangi Mithiori and the late Jane Warari of Kiboi Village. Son-in-law of the late Humphrey Kimani and the late Racheal Nyambura.

Beloved husband of Francinah Njuguini. Father to Charles Ichagichu and Carol Wanjiku, Robert Kimani, the late James Maina and Wandia Nyamu and Jane Wangari Ichagichu. Grandfather to Chris, Njuguini, Cyril, Naitore and Cayden.

Brother to the late Peter Gachia, James Mithiori and Grace Nyambura. Brother-in-law to the Thondu’s family.

Family and relatives are meeting at his home in Kiukenda Estate and Swallow One, Kahawa West for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Funeral Home at 8.00am on Wednesday 28th December, 2022 for requiem service at ACK Kiboi Church at 10.00am and thereafter burial at his farm in Kiboi village, Kahuro Sub-county, Murang’a County.
