Leonard Were Osore

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Leonard Were Osore, beloved husband of the late Matilda Were and Selina Were.

He was the cherished son of the late Osore Chisaka and Maria Wakhu. Loving brother of the late Clementina Makokha, the late Johnes Nyarotso, and the late Gaudencia Onyango.

He was a devoted and loving father of Kelensencia Nyongesa, Rev. Josephine Omwoa, Dr. Benedict Osore, Margaret Njuguna, Kennedy Were,Angeline Oloo,Alfred Wesonga, Gabriel Were, Rose Shirako, Pastor Alice Wesonga, Bridgit Nyasaga, Christine Busienei, William Were, Petronilla Mbovi, Electine Oirere, Pastor Ann Maheli, and Elisheba Malala. He was also blessed with 5 daughters-in-law, 12 sons-in-law, 70 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The cortege will leave Cherangany Hospital Funeral Home on Friday, 20th March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. for a Requiem Mass at St. Benedict’s Mbururu Catholic Church, followed by a vigil at his home in Nzoia Scheme. The burial will take place on Saturday, 21st March 2026, at his home in Nzoia Scheme, Likuyani Sub-County Kakamega County.
