Lucy Dorothy Kubasu

It is with a heavy heart and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Lucy Dorothy Kubasu, after an illness bravely borne. Formerly of World Vision International (1981-2002), and a staunch member of CITAM Valley Road.

She was the fifth born child of the late Rev Kerry Okwis.a Kubasu and the late Rev James Arthur Kubasu of Bushiangala Village, Kakamega County. Sister of the late Grace Namasaka, Esther Muhanji, the late Emily Ayoti Sakaja, David Kubasu, Elvira Shitohi, Hon Elsie Muhanda. Ken Kubo…su,Anne Ornambia, Dan Kubasu, Ben Kubasu, Harun Kubasu, Dr Jacqueline Ojiambo and Loice Kubasu.

Sister-in-law of the late Patrick Namasaka, John Muhanji, John Sakaja, Rose Achitsa, Phillip Shitohi, Eng Peter Muhanda. Dr Steliah Kubasu, the late Donald Omambia, Rosemary Olweny, Judith Kiptarus, Jacinto Ojiambo and Denis Onyango.

Cherished auntie of Honorable Johnson Arthur Sakaja, Edwin Namasaka, Amos Muhanji, Tim Muhanji, Annmarte Sakaja, Ann Barbra Kubasu, Ketry Shitohi, Michael Muhanda, Dr Michelle Muhanda, Ketry Oyiele, Stella Nyakoa, Ivy Ketry Kubasu, Gracia Kubasu, Jimmy Kubasu, Were Ojiambo and James Irindi, among others.

Niece of the late Andrew Kubasu, the late Jackson Imbayi, the late Peter Iniembele, Obed Kubasu, Frank Kubasu, Furn Mwawasi, Philemon Livondo, Arthur Kubasu, the late Richard Kubasu, Prof Samuel Kubasu, the late Rev Enock Mulembo, the late Henry Mulembo, the late Livingstone Mulembo, the late Francis Okaro, Phyllis Mitambo, Jemimah Ambiyo, the late Martha Awinja and Jethro Mulembo, .among others.

Cousin of Hon Stanley Livondo, Amb Franklin Esipila, Racheal Ivasha, Simon Kubasu, Washington Amwoka. Dr Samwel Mwawasi, Hudson Upungu, Simon Kubasu, Jackline Shimenga, David Shimenga, Zack Kubasu, late Twyler Amnia (Malungu), the late Isaiah (Ike) Mulembo, Sarah Omina, the late Loice Okaro, Catherine Musuku, Lydia Alicia, and Sussie Mboku, among others.

Family and friends will meet at CITAM Valley Road on Wednesday 18th, Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th March, 2026 from 6.00 PM.

There will be a memorial service at CITAM Valley Road on Wednesday 25th March, 2026, from 11.00AM.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi on Friday, 27th March 2026 for night vigil at her father’s homestead in Bushiangala village, Kakamega County.

The burial service will be on Saturday, 2801 March, 2026, at Bushiangala Village, from 9.00AM.
