A Celebration of Life in Christ

1934 – 2025

We celebrate the life of our Family Matriarch and Anchor, Mama Agatha Maina Namwamba, who has returned home to our creator at the blessed age of 91 years, after a full life dedicated to nurturing her family and serving Christ. Mama Agatha was wife to the late Peter Lwecheche Namwamba and Mother to Amb. Hon. Ababu-Terrah Namwamba, EGH – Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the late Amelia Night, Patrick Namwamba (USA), the late James Namwamba, John Namwamba, Prof. Thomas Namwamba (Kenyatta University), Godfrey Osimbo, Agnes Khateera Nyera, Nicholas Aggrey and Hillary Alari. She was the daughter to the late Joseph and Helena Sakha and sister to the late John Origi, the late Marita Obayi, the late Leonora Anyama, Nicholas Sakha and Joseph Wanyama. Mama Agatha leaves behind over 100 grand and great-grand children.

A private Celebration of Life Holy Mass will be hosted on Saturday 23rd August, 2025 from 11.00 am at Forest View Court Residence No. 9 off Hillcrest Drive in Karen, Nairobi where family and friends are meeting. A Requiem Church Service will be held on Friday, 29th August at VOSH Port Victoria from 11.00 am, followed by a Night Vigil Musical led by gospel artist Milka Omondi of the Yesu tiyo taling’ aling’a hit song from 6.00pm at Mama Agatha’s Port Victoria Residence, where she will be laid to rest on 30th August. The public funeral service will be held at Port Victoria Primary School grounds on Saturday, 30th August from 9.00 am. Final graveside burial rites will be limited to family and the Church.

The contact person during this mourning season is the Chairman of the Funeral Program, Mr. Victor Oloo Obayi, Mama Agatha’s nephew.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”.
