We regret to announce the death of Mama Helena Ong’ute Awuor (Nya Jakinda).

Daughter of the late Atanas Jakinda and the late Magdalina Aiwang’ (Major Nya Karabondi).

Wife of the late Jaduong’ Henricus Awuor imbo, and co-wife of the late Christrina Orawo Awuor.

Her children are Francis lmbo, Councillor John Onyango, Ambrose Olela, Felistus Awuor, Leo Onyango, Dr. John Bius Awuor, Benedet Ogutu, the late Jenipher Akoth, Archbishop Emeritus Zachaeus Okoth, the late Dorothy Olando, the late Magdalene Okeyo, Philip Odero, Joseph Imbo, Mary Adwet, Dr. Hilary Awuor, Immaculate Mbogo, Treazer Koriko, Collet Onyuka and the late reverent Father James Kisero.

Sister-in-law of the late Bonfase Nyaji, Ambrose Olela. Jacob° Kiser°, Alphonce Ogolo, Barnabas Athero, Cornel Apiyo, Adongo Imbo, Perterlis Agai, Nicholus Odera, Magdalena Siso, Benedeta lmbo, Magdalene Akeyo, Rabare and Onywera.

Sons-in-law are the late Thomas Olando, Pascal Okeyo, Edward Agwanda, Adrew Mbogo, Nicholus Koriko, Maurice Onyuka, Joseph Olala and George Ogutu. Her daughters-in-law are Ruth Odero, Jemima Imbo, Benter Imbo, Symphorosa Hillary, Syprose Onyango, the late Roseline Mbati Olela, Margaret Onyango,Athanasia Buas, Joy Omuya, Emily Leo.

Her grandchildren are the late Bosco Olando, Caroline Ndinya, Bonventure Olando, Fred Odero, Justice Dr. Scolastica Omondi, David Odero, Tony Imbo, John Bius Okeyo, Jacinta Amimo, Risper Orondo, Tom Imbo, Carolyn Nyaoke, Ralphael Odero, Erick Onyango, Concepta Imbo, Bill Olela, Cecil Imbo. Martin Onyango, Henricus Bius, Elizabeth Imbo, Austine and Robert Ogutu. Cecil Owala, David Adwet, Christine Nyaswa. Andrew Adwet, Mary Claire Imbo, Lucil Onyango, Henry Onyuka, Lucy Mbogo, Maureen Onyango, Milicent Imbo, Octavius Obonyo. Christine Odero, Helen Bius, Cerine Obuya, amongst others. She has left behind many great grandchildren and great-great children.

The body is at St Monica Hospital Kisumu, will leave on Friday 6th June 2025 at 12 Noon, and thereafter, a Holly Mass will be conducted at Our lady Of Lourdes Bolo Catholic Church by 3.00PM.

The burial and Mass Service will be conducted on Saturday 7th June 2025 at the Home of Kawuor Imbo, Bolo Location, Nyakach.
