Mama Leunida Oluoch Adede (Jowi Nyar Kasule)

1937 – 2019

Death has occurred of Mama Leunida Adede on 22nd April 2019 at Nightingale Hospital (Milimani).

Daughter of the late Jowi Kokumbo and Adero Nyar Diang’a of Kano Kasule, Kaol Village Renja. Sister of the late Maurice Okumbo and George Onyango. Niece of Jowi Owiti and Radiro Obaso. Cousin of Councillor Sadam Okore, Majanga, Aol Sule, Serphina Ounga and Salina Juma. Wife of the late Assistant Chief Paul Adede Ongo and Co-wife of Alice Adede. Sister-in-law of Gwako Oleng’, Agalo Oleng’, Ododa Oleng’, Ouma Ongo, Osano Ongo, Ayoo Ongo, Opapa Ongo, Jacktone Opiyo Ongo, Teresa Opondo, Awiti Aloka, Oganga Awiti and Chek Nyar Ongo. Mother of Dr. Ofafa Adede (Ksm), Lucy Achiando (Kagan), Perpetua Ajowi (Nyarach Pri. Rongo), Jim Adede (S. Sudan), Joyce Oduor (Britam), Thomas Adede (Agola Owuor Sec.sch) and the late May Adede. Mother-in-law of Florence Ofafa (Mkendwa), Antonina May (Kibuye), Rose Cloy (Mamboleo), Jane Singh (Siburi), Naomi May (CISS), Peter Achiando (Kagan), Dominic Ajowi (Rongo) and John Oduor (KAACR). Grandmother of Kwame, Lisa, Rodgers, Tonny, Sandra, Hillary, Phina, Bobby, Carolyne Okeyo and many others.

Karachuonyo Dev, Forum and Kauma Members will have Harambee on Tuesday 14th May at Whirlspring Hotel at 4:00pm and also at home.

Requiem mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Milimani on Thursday 16th May, 2019 from 11:00am.

Final celebrations and burial will be on Friday, 17th May 2019 at her home in Karachuonyo, Kauma, Raroki Village near Oboro Dam. All are welcome.
