Mama Mary Jacinta Were Okoda (Nyar Amol)

 It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Mum, Mama Mary Jacinta Were Okoda which occurred on 25 June 2021 at Nightingale Hospital, Milimani, Kisumu County after a short illness.

Daughter of the late Mice Ibrahim Amol and the late Mama Rael Amimo of Seme Konywera. Manyuanda School, Kisumu County. Wife to the late Sebastian Peter Okoda. Mother to Celestine Munda, Austin Oduor Okoda, Betty Okoko, Janet Okoda, Florence Oyoo, Margaret Okoda, Antony Ochieng Okoda, Brenda Okoda and Lynda Okoda. Mother-in-law to Sam Murida, Prof Jane Oduor, Eng. Tom Okoko, Philip Oyoo, Betty Ochieng, Sam Ombuni, Tchioffo Michel.

She was the last standing sibling of the late Sospeter Ngwala, Dorca Obuong’, Aguda, Nelson Oliech, Manoah Onywera, Rosebella Koga, Odiwa, Ariya and Anna Francesca Oriri. She was sister-in-law to the late Lawi Otieno, the late Andrea Odie and the late George Onyango. Grandmother to Philip Munda, Jessica Munda, Ashleigh Fynn-Munda, Louis Oduor, Elsie Oduor, Shonnel Matthew Were, Marvin Oyoo, Denise Oyoo, Philip Oyoo Jnr, Maria Kimberley Achieng, Owen Ochieng, Nicole Ochieng, Marion Ochieng, Emmanuel Ochieng, Ricky Ochieng, Hawi, Nathan Noel, Jerome, Damian Adrian and the late Belinda.

Mama will be laid to rest on 3rd July 2021 in strict adherence with Ministry of Health COVID protocols.
