Mama Nyorianah Nyanchama Samson

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mama Nyorianah Nyanchama Samson.

She was the wife of the late Samson Kiyondi Onkendi & co-wife of the late Jerusa Kerubo.

She was the daughter of the late Daudi Manono Ong’era and late Lucia Nyaburi. Sister of Keremensia Biyaki Moturi, late Consolata Aberi, Elizabeth Moraa Mogere, late Morumbwa, Jacob Manono among others.

She was a beloved mother of Joyce Onkui, Dr. Kenneth Ombongi, (University of Nairobi), late Hellen Rabera, Dr. John Oteyo (Kenyatta University), Martha Kemunto (Motonto), Isaac Ombiro Kiyondi (Tourism Fund) Nairobi, Esther Mokeira and Eunice Nyaboke Muriithi (Kirinyaga). Step-mother of the late Eunice Moraa, Elder Daniel Onkendi, late Reuben Onuong’a, elder Anyimu, Abel Morang’a, elder Edward Nyabuto, Madam Mariam Nyang’au, late Peter Oyunge and Joel Ombiro.

Mother-in-law of Gladys Mogoi, Beatrice Mogiti and Martha Kwamboka.

Grandmother of Stephen Onkui, Crystal, Ethan, Rita, Lucky, Luther, Aberi, Christine, Carson, Catherine, Gitari,Wambui, Kiyondi, Barbra, Wilson,Wycliffe, Makabe, Rose, Debra, Jotham, Robert, Lilian, Peris, Samson and Nyorianah. Great grandmother of Job Sunda, Josphath Onkui, Josephine Moraa, Emmanual Mochama & Julius Nyabuto.

Korera of the late Haran Arandi, Samson Bongoye, late Rambeka, late Nahason Orera, among others.

Auntie of the Morekas, Magatis, Oriokis,Tinegas, Manugutis, Ombiros and Maisos, Moturis, Ongakis, Mogeres, Omosas, Isoes, among others.

She passed away after a, long illness on August 7, 2025, at Jalaram St. Christopher Hospital, Nakuru, where she was receiving treatment. Her body is lying at Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru.

There are ongoing meetings for prayers and funeral arrangements at Kenneth Ombongi’s residence, Nairobi, John Oteyo’s & Isaac Ombiro’s, residences, Nakuru.

Mama Nyorianah will be laid to rest on August 22, 2025, at Bokimweri Village, Nyamagwa sub-location, Igare Location, Bobasi Constituency, Kisii County.

    Shosh rest in peace we believe that one day we shall meet again and for the family, friends and relatives let’s appreciate for everything that that God has done all the years of our grandmother.
