Mama Syprose Odeny (Asipo)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mama Syprose Odeny (Asipo) who went to be with the Lord on 14th March 2024.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Odhiambo Chieng’, daughter in law of the late Manasse and Truphosa Chieng’ of Seme. Daughter of the late Andericus Odeny and the late Gaudencia Odeny of Kanyakwar, Kisumu. Niece of Helena and Mathlida. Loving mother of Edelquinn Achieng (EACC), Francis Odhiambo, Domnic Ouma (KRA), Catherine Anyango (ICORN).

Beloved sister of the late Regina Adera, Phillip Olago Odeny, Consolata Odongo, Dr. Cyprian Odeny.

Cousin of Carey Odero, Hon. Olago Aluoch, Michael Raongo, Maurice Midialo among others.

Sister-in-law of Jane Olago, Gladys Olago, Justice Millicent Odeny, the late Vincent Obuya, late Shem Apondo among others. In-law (Nyawana) of James & Jeniffer Opiyo and Peter & Monica Mboya.

Mother in-law of Alfred Opiyo Advocate and Irene Mboya. She was grandmother of Amara, Justin, Gabby, Regina, Arianna, Rael and Ariela.

Auntie of Austin, Dr Agatha, Cly, Danny, Sharon, Dr Nicole, Steve among others.

The cortege will leave Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on 5th April 2024 at 12.30pm followed by a requiem Mass at St. Domnic Kianja Catholic Church, Kajulu at 2.00pm.

There will be a fundraising on 27 March 2024, at All Saints Cathedral at 5.00pm.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 6th April 2024 from 9.00am at Kianja Primary School Kajulu followed by interment at her home in Kajulu Kadero.

Mama, you fought a good fight. Your memories shall forever live on. We love you.
