Mama Turfosa Atieno Orero
It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Turfosa Atieno Orero, which occurred on 19th May, at Nightingale Hospital, Kisumu.
Mama Turfosa Atieno was born in September 1937 as the first born daughter of Elishaphan Aoko Gumbo and Iska Aoko of Kamagambo Opapo Village, Migori County. Beloved wife to the late Mzee Richard Orero. Mother of Dr. Solomon Orero (Jhpiego), Jane Owuor (Rongo), George Orero (Riana Dev Network), Shadrack Orero (Siemens USA), Denis Orero (Migori County), Prof. Pamela Raburu JOOUST, Mwalimu Peter Orero (Dagoretti High), Joshua Orero (Homabay County), Rodgers Orero (Riana Dev Network, UK), Monica Orero (Kenya Red Cross Society), Winnie and Christine.
Sister to Rose Owande (Migori), Margaret, Risper, Grace, Rodah, Jane, Samwel, Jared, Isack, John, George, Malachi and Boniface. Sister in-law to Josiah Owande, Samuel Okello, Joseph Omuom, Habil Ondigo, Isaac Ondigo, Paul Okello, Maurice Nyamambe, Shaban Nyamambe, Omondi Okello, Isaiah Okello, the late William, Wellington, Edward and Ben. Mother-in-law to Dr. Risper, Esther, Millicent, Hellen, Emma, Eunia, Christine and Janet. In-law to late Charles Owuor, Prof George Raburu and Nicholas Odhiambo.
Grandmother to Jackline, Hesborn, Benard, Velma, Bethsheba, Richard (Madillu), Achieng, Tonny, jnr., Joyce, Qurie, Vicky, Omondi, Lesley, Nicole, Joe, Roy, Bill, Arnie, Lilian. Chancelle, Cherise, Nollene, Maxwel, Quinter, Richie, Craig and Carrie. Great-grandmother to Junior, Nicole, Drogba, Sheldon, Tarsley, Tedrick, Sophia, Sarah, Tiye and Aten.
Aunty to Josephine Nyangaga (MOE), Lillian Otieno (Unity Primary), Evelyn Olunja (UN Sacco), Babu, Janet Akoth, the late Bina Owande and James Owande (Mwallmu Sacco). Auntie to Chris, Moses, Dan, Deepens, among others.
The burial will be held on Friday 28th May, 2021, at Waradho Village, Magma, Ndhiwa Sub-county, Homa-Bay County.
There will be a Harambee on Tuesday 25th May, 2021 at All Saints Cathedral – Nairobi/Virtual, at 5.00pni to offset burial expenses.
