It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of the Lord’s will that we announce the sudden promotion to glory of Mama Alice Sapientia Arumba Sitima, a former head teacher, educationist and it, mentor to many. She passed on at Top Hill Hospital in Eldoret on Saturday, 15′ May 2021.

The 5th born of the late Josiah and Margret Chimika of Lirhanda Village, Shinyalu. Wife to the late former Chief Inspector of Schools Mzee Tom Maliachi Sitima. A co-wife to Pauline Sitima and Perpetua Maliachi. She was blessed with 7 children; Allan Mukoto, Nancy Lihavi, Ken Mukavane, Colly Khayadi, Evah Shabuya, Patience Mmbusa and the late Mercy. Step-mother to among others, Mable, Flora, the late Miria, Kubayi, Mike, Sylvia, Faith, Tues, Summer, Jill, Diana and David (Babu).

A proud and loving grandmother to Edel, Camillah, Hilda, Alvin Junior, Virginia, Warren Bond, Natasha, Amanda, Cedella, Nigel, Ryan Thomas, Braidy and Harry Dave. A sister to Teresina Shimala, the late Rosa Achitsa, the late Perpetual Mmbaya, the late Luka, the late Boiya, Bridget Masitsa, Willminer Wakasa Kimeu. Mother-in-law to Risper Mukoto, Edith Mutola, Phyllis Shinyada and the late Chris Lipeya.

An in-law to the late Jethro Maliachi, Esther Kalura, Antonina Musavi, Ann-May, June-Maria Odongo, Rosa Macheso, Martha Malenya, Ruth Muhati, Joseph Opozo, Victoria Okwiri, Peter Atema, the late Peter Shiramba, the late Japheth Kuyanda, Peter Liuba-& the late Kimeu. A basanji/ co-mother-in-law to Jael Alaro, Mr & Mrs Shichenje, Mr & Mrs Muchera, Mr. & Mrs. Njiri, Mr. & Mrs. Lipeya, among others.A cousin to the larger Luyiakha family of Ebushikali, Shinyalu.An aunt to Sarah Mwose, the Atemas of Imuhali, the Kuyandas of Shiagungu, the Kimeus of Kangundo, the Lubisias, the Odongos, the Malenyas, the Mukoshis and others.

The cortege leaves the Kakamega County Referral Morgue on Friday, 28t May, 2021, for her home in Emakaka Village, Shiyunzu Location Kakamega Central. The burial ceremony will be held on Saturday, 29th May, 2021.

In God’s Hands you rest, in our hearts you live forever. Rest in peace. We will miss you.
