Margaret Wangari Thiong’o

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Margaret Wangari Thiong’o.

Daughter of the late Njoroge Mwicigi and The late Wangui Njoroge. Wife of the Late Fredrick Thiong’o Riitho. She is mother of Nancy and Samuel Ng’ang’a of Juja farm, Susan Wangui, Catherine Muthoni, Dave Riitho-KEMRI and Rehema of Diakonia, Patrick-Garissa and Jane Mahira, Jane and Leonard Ngaita, Evanson and Ruth Mwicigi, Keziah Njeri, Christine Njoki, Josephine Njuhi, Douglas Waweru and the late Nicholas and the late Rose Njoroge. Grandmother to Joan (UK), Eddy, Elsie, Liz,Anorld, Stacy, Margaret, Yvonne, Karuri, Stephanie, Waweru, Andrew, John, Vanessa, Mbiyu, Mwangi among others. Sister to Njoki Mwangi of Gilgil, the late Wangari Ngutha, the late Esther Wambui, the late Mary Wanjiru, the late Evanson Wanyoike and the late Kanini Njoroge. Sister-in-law to Marion Kamau, Keziah Njeri, Josephine Muiruri and Mahira Riitho (all deceased) among others.

Family and friends are meeting at her residence in Kangemi along Marenga Road daily at 4pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Umash funeral home on Tuesday 23rd July 2019 at 8.30am followed by a funeral service at ACK St. John’s Kangemi at 10.00am thereafter burial will follow at her family residence along Marenga road.
