Mary Nyokabi Gathumu
It is with sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely passing on of our dear Mary Nyokabi Gathumu which occurred on 30th Sept 2020 after a short illness.
Loving daughter of Mwalimu John Gathumu and the late Bernadette Wangari Gathumu. Sister of the late Margaret Wairimu, Josephine Wanja (London), Ignatius Wanjihia, Pius Kibugi, Anne Nduta (London) and Xavier Wanjihia.
Auntie of Christine, Diana, Kelvin, Edwin, Yazmine, Mark and the late George Gathumu.
Friends and family are meeting daily at their home in Kairi village.
The cortege leaves Bishop Okoye Funeral home Thika on Friday 9th October 2020 at 8:00am for a Holy mass and burial at their home Kwa Mbari village, Kairi.
In God’s hands you rest in our hearts you remain forever. Amen
As you are laid to rest today, we know that you have gone to a better world, and pray that you may get peace, love and happiness there. Though we mourn your death, we also celebrate your life. We will miss everything about you Mary. Rest in peace and may angels watch over you! Much love ~ Salina.
A young boy boarded a school bus to school every morning. The same driver brought the boy back. And the driver noticed this boy always alighted in front of a graveyard and walked into the yard every single day. The driver was one day compelled to ask this boy what he was doing in the graveyard every day. The little boy smiled and pointed through the graveyard to a beautiful white building and said…”you see that house? That’s our house. But for me to reach home I must walk through this graveyard because that is the only way to our home”.
As painful as it is, we are consoled that dear Mary has gone home passing through the graveyard. We would have wished differently but God always has the final say.Dear Mary,your captivating smile will linger on….
Rest peacefully dear Mary from the labor and toils of this life.
