It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Mercy Gathoni Githinji that occurred on 4th October 2020.

Beloved wife of Mr. James Githinji of Kiria Village, Wahundura, Murang’a County. Daughter of the late Mzee Eston Kairu, late mama Joyce Kagure and late mama Alice Njeri. Loving mother of Dickson Githinji, Anthony Kairu and Kenneth Kibata. Mother-in-law of Phanice Githinji and Faith Kibata, grandmother of Ethan Maina, Emmanuel Maina and Eliana Gathoni. Daughter-in-law of the late Peter Githinji Irenge and the late Florence Wanjiru Githinji. Sister of John Karuri, the late Leah Wanjiru, Prisca Wangui, Jane Wanjiru, Jennifer Wambui, and Julius Kariuki, the late Jerusha Wanjiku, Gladys Muthoni, Henry Karuri, Susan Wanjiru, Margaret Wangari, Grace Gathoni and the late Humphrey Mwangi Kairu. Friends and relatives are meeting every evening starting 5pm at both Kenyatta road and the family home in Kiria, Wahundura.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home —Thika Rd on Saturday 10th October 2020 at 7:00 am followed by funeral service at ACK St James Kiria, Wahundura, Murang’a County starting at I 0:00 am. She will be laid to rest at their family home in Kiria thereafter.
