It’s with humble acceptance, that we announce the sudden demise of Mary Wanja Mbobua, which occurred on Thursday, 4th April, 2024, after being briefly admitted in hospital.

The late Mary Wanja Mbobua was born on, 20th May 1952. She was the second born child and first daughter of the late Zablon Nkaabu Rembe and the late Mrs. Gladys Marite Nkaabu of Murungune Village, Abogeta West Ward, South Imenti in Meru County. She was sister of Francis Kaburia, Pamela Kithinji, Elisheba Gituma, the late Kenneth Gitonga, Doris Kagendo, Dianah Nkaabu, the late Catherine Gikunda, Fridah Gichuru and Loyford Kinoti. She grew up as a very energetic child who was very calm and obedient to her parents.

Mary was married to Zakayo Mbobua, who was the love of her life in a church ceremony solemnised by Reverend Leonard Mburugu at PCEA Kithangari Church in 1976. Mary was a loving mother of Eric Mbaya, Purity Makena, Betty Kagwiria, the late Catherine Kathambi, Chris Munene and Faith Kinanu. She was mother-in-law of Mercy Mbaya, the late Weldon Koros, Sen.Tabitha Mutinda and Augustine Limo. She was a grandmother of nine grandchildren namely, Tony Muchai, Karen Chepkorir, Debra Chepkimoi,Valerie Kendi, Lee Muthuri, Immanuel Mwenda, Charlotte Lovie, Happy Mi-Mil and Audrey Natasha.

The cortege will leave Meru Funeral Home on Friday, 12th April, 2024 at 9.30AM for a funeral service and burial at the family home, in Kinjo, Katheri Ward, Meru County.
