Michael Gichuhi Kibunyi (Matemo)

With sadness, heavy hearts and great sense of loss, we announce the passing on of Our Patriarch Michael Gichuhi Kibunyi (Matemo) of Mahuria Village, Kariti Sub-location, Kandara, Murang’a County. Retired officer at Kenya Railways.

Gichuhi was the son of the late Francis Kibunyi (Ndukuyu) and the late Lucia Wahu. Stepson of the late Mary Wambui.

Husband of Pauline Muthoni Gichuhi. Father of Francis Kibunyi and Susan Gathoni, Bernard Wainaina and Jane Wairimu, Thomas Mwaniki and Tabitha Wanjiru, Jane Nyambura and Timothy Kamau, Anderson Waweru and
Milka Wangui, Judy Waithera, Lilian Njeri and Peter Gathecha.

Grandfather of Pauline Wainaina, Muthoni Kibunyi, Michael Kibunyi, Mark Njoroge, lan Wainaina, Francis Njoroge, Muthoni Waweru, Esther Gathigia, Lucia Wahu, Nyawira Kibunyi, Dominic Mwangi, Collins Gichuhi, Gichuhi Waweru, Willis Kuria, Grace Wanjiru, Wilson Mugwe, Elvis Maina, Esther Njeri, Darel Francis Kibunyi, Philip Muthui, and Michael Gichuhi. Great grandfather of Wamuyu Maina.

Brother of Peter Njoroge, the late Boniface Mbui, Benson Ndungu, the late Njeri and Paulina Wairimu.

Meetings are taking place everyday at his rural home and at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, from 5:30pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will depart from K.U Referral Hospital Funeral Home on Saturday, 23rd March, 2024 at 7.00am. Funeral service shall be in his home from 10.00am.
