It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dr. Edith Kamaru Kwobah. She was a loving wife, doting mother, brilliant psychiatrist, lecturer, researcher, humanitarian, mentor and inspirational leader.

Until her demise, Edith was serving as the Director of Mental Health & Rehabilitative Services at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital (MTRH), and as the Deputy Executive Director for Research at the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH).

She leaves an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born with a passion for always doing good, she pushed the boundaries of all she set out to do. She was a beacon of wisdom and compassion and embodied the true essence of humanity,

Edith had an unparalleled ability to inspire and uplift those around her, whether at work or at the community level. Her memory will forever remain etched in the countless hearts fortunate enough to know her and whose lives she touched

She’s survived by her loving family; husband Dr. Charles Kwobah, children Elsie, Jasmine and Beraka, parents Mr and Mrs Kamaru, (Ndeiya, Limuru), siblings Beatrice, Karanja, Triza, Rose, Mary and Jolin.

Edith, your life was well lived, and legacy well left. Rest In Peace

The cortege will leave MTRH Farewell Home on Friday 29th March 2024 at 8 00am and thereafter a service will be held to celebrate her life from 10.00am at AIC Fellowship, Eldoret. She will be laid to rest at her home in Kipkoriony village, Kitale on 30th March 2024.
