It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Misati Bwongori of Raleigh, North Carolina, on 21st February 2026.

He was the beloved son of Wilson Ongori Okenye and Lois Bogomba Ongori of Boochi Village, Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, Kisii County. Step son of prisca.

He was the grandson of the late Omweno and Nyansarora of Emesa, and the late Machoka and Nyoero of lgorera Bombaba.

Misati was a loving husband of the late Jackline Kemunto Omwenga and Magret Moraa Momanyi, and a proud father of Jackline, Malcolm, Kyle, and Brad, all of USA.

He was a cherished brother of Omweno, the late Anne, Tom of New Jersey USA, Samson, Hellen, Peris, Festus, Caroline, Panilla, Elizabeth, Agnes, and Felix.

Brother-in-law of Ogoti, Robert, Benard, Kennedy, Julie of UK, Beatrice, Evans,Alice of USA, Frida, Pamela, Evaline, and Jackline. Semo of Obed, Oichoe, George Bosire and Tom Oigara.

Son-in-law of the late Samson Momanyi Manyara and Tabitha Nyarinda Momanyi. Uncle of Risper, Mochama, Mathew, Rubby, Rebekah, Brian, Brandon, Machoka, Mitchell, Vivian, Dylan, and Ryan.

His uncle’s and aunts include among others, Shem,Alice, the late Mochama,Wilter, the late Nyasaka, Bitengo, Ogora, Gekuno, Sibwoga. Momanyi, the late Nyaburi, Mochama, Elizabeth, Moraa, and Dorca. Cousin of Samuel, Nyangau, Onkoba, Oyarodoel and Mabeya of USA, Ann, Joyce, Susan, Mochama, Ogachi, Bob, John, Edinah, Julius, Henry, LOganda, among others.

Fundraising is ongoing in Nairobi (at Holy family basilica, Cardinal Otunga Plaza) and at their Magena home. Main fundraising will be on 23th March at Cardinal Otunga Plaza 7th floor, Nairobi.

Burial date will be on 27/03/2026 at his residence Magena – Ichuni Kenyenya Sub-County.
