Mr. Hannington Mobutu Akala

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Hannington Mobutu Akala on March 11, 2026.

Son of the late Rev. Isaya and Mama Salome Akala, and beloved husband of the late Maurine Khavoga Akala. He was a devoted father of Victor, Sheila, Mathews,Alan, Irene S, Irene K, Mercy, and the late Wycliffe. A cherished brother, father-in-law, and grandfather to fourteen.

Services: Prayers held daily at his Matundu home in Isulu Village, Ikolomani.

The cortege leaves Mukumu Mortuary on Friday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m. for a vigil. Funeral and burial on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at his Matundu home.
