Mr. Stanley C. Muchiri, EBS

 1946 – 2018

The Board of the Co-operative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) and the entire co-operative movement regret to announce the untimely death of our former Chairman Mr. Stanley C. Muchiri, EBS. Mr. Muchiri rested on 6th October 2018 while on travel in Abuja, Nigeria attending the African Ministerial Co-operative Conference and Regional Assembly of the International Co-operative Alliance, Africa where he served as President for Africa and Vice President at the Global ICA.

He was the founder chairman of the Co-operative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) from 2009 to 2017 and also the interim Chairman of the KNFC from 2004 to 2009. He was instrumental in spearheading reforms in the coffee sector including licensing of co-operatives entities to mill and market coffee. He will be remembered mostly for his efforts in establishing the Kenya Coffee Co-operative Exporters (KCCE) and KCCD. These among other responsibilities that he carried with so much dedication as the Chairman of the Co-operative Bank Group.

Mr. Muchiri is survived by his dear wife Mrs. Jerusha Muchiri, his children Charles and Agnes Ndonga, Jane Njoki, Moses and Wajiru Ngugi, Rufus and Wanja Mburu and, James and Judy Ngugi and many grandchildren.

There will be evening Prayer Meetings at the All Saints Cathedral on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October 2018 starting at  5.00pm, and at their Thika Family Residence daily.

The Funeral service will be on Friday 19th October, 2018 at Kawaharura Maragwa Constituency, Murang’a County.

We shall miss his great leadership and wisdom. Rest in Peace Mr. Stanley C. Muchiri.
