It is with sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mbutha Mutyauvyu (Iya) of Kathungi Village, Katulani Sub-county, Kitui which occurred on 07/08/2018 at NEEMA Hospital, Kitui after ailing for a while.

Loving wife of the late Mutyauvyu Kongo. Daughter of the late Maithya Kunga and the late Nzisa Maithya. Mother of Katuu, Mwangangi, Daniel Tito (TSC), Festus Mboya (TSC), Monicah, Veronica Mwende (TSC), Rose Mwikali (TSC), Samuel Munyoki (Ridgeway Autotech) and Sylvester Maithya (NEMA). Mother-in-law of Mwikali, Mueni (Malibu Girls’), Nyiva (TSC), Mwikali (Penda Medical Center), Mwende (Barclays Bank), Musyoka, Samuel, the late David and the late Mwavasi. Sister of Malii, the late Miti, Kisamwa, Ngwasi and Kalundu.

Sister-in-law of Kamau, Wamwene, Kiluu, Muema, Katika, Mutua, Kavithe, Nzoki, Loise, Nzisiva, Esther, Kalunde and Kaindi. Grandmother of Muse, Nzisa, Mwikali, Ngui, Syombua, Kimota, Wamwene, Mbutha, Ndunge, Syombua, Nicholas, Ngwasi, Mbuu, Mesh, Kyome, Jane, Lilian, Kaluki, Martin, Mbite, Kasalu, Mwongeli, Kambua, Jane, Savali, Mbutha, Mutunga, Justus, Grace, Ngovi, Mutyauvyu, Kongo, Marlin, Fiona, Felicia, Brayden and Ethan. In-law of the late Kiema and Kamene, the late Munyoki and Mulii, Kasalu and Beatrice, Mwambui and Mutune, Kaviti and Kamene.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements in Nairobi at Holy Family Basilica (St. Bakhita, Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th August, 2018) and her home in Kathungi Village, Katulani Sub-county, Kitui.

The cortege leaves Jordan Hospital Funeral Home on Saturday, 18 August 2018 at 8:00am for burial at 11:00am at her home.
