Mzee Joel Kiptanui Chelashaw

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely passing on of Mzee Joel Kiptanui Chelashaw, of Kapngetuny Location in Ainabkol Settlement Scheme, which occurred on IS’ June, 2025 following an illness bravely borne.

Loving husband of the late Rhodah Chelashaw.

Son of the late Alexander Chebii Chelashaw and Gogo Hannah Chebii of Kapng’etuny Location. Brother of the late Peter Chelashaw, Richard Ngetich, Hellen Kibire, Henry Ngetich, Emmy Koech and Caroline Sirma.

Son-in-law of the late Mr and Mrs Kiprotich arap Chebit of Kimamet village, Kamwosor Location. Brother-in-law of Peninah Chelashaw, the late Samson Kibire, Tecla Ngetich, Emmy Ngetich, Samwel Koech, Moses Sirma and Eunice Koletit, William Chebii, the late Nelson Chebii, the late Stephen Chebii, Samuel Chebii, Zakayo Rotich, Henry Chebii and Haron Chebii.

Loving Father of the late Gladys Munge, Bethuel Chelashaw (Elmara Tea), Joram Chelashaw (Ministry of Health), Dominic Chelashaw (Ericsson), Allan Chelashaw (USA), Duncan Chelashaw (KRA) Anthony Chelashaw (Dimension Data) and Cynthia Chelashaw (St. Gregory Naiberi Secondary School). Father-in-law of Julius Munge, Beatrice, Belinda, Ruth,Wilfrida, Ruth and Mary. He was blessed with 24 grandchildren. A loving uncle to many.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at his home Kapngetuny, Ainabkoi.

The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital Mortuary on Friday 27th June, 2025 at 1:00prn for interment at his home in Kapngetuny, Ainabkoi Settlement Scheme, Uasin Gishu County on Saturday 28th June 2025.
