Mzee Nelson Ricky Oreng Juma

It is with profound sadness and Humble acceptance of God’s will that we the family of the late Nashon Juma announce the passing on of our Patriarch Mzee Nelson Ricky Oreng Juma, that occurred on the 24th January, 2023.

Son of the late Mzee Nashon Juma Achungni and the late Mama Sylvia Ajwang Nyadera Juma, both of Uyoma Katweng’a Rarieda Sub-county, Siaya County. Son-in-law to the late Mzee Wilson Olweny and the late Mama Monica Olweny of Asembo Kochieng Nyayiera, the late Mzee Jonathan Anyinyo and Mama Hilda Muyonga of Gem Sirembe, the late Mzee Junai Nyadwa Ongeso and the late Mama Magdaline Aloo Nyadwa of Gem Mutumbu.

Husband to Mama Margaret Achieng Oreng, Mama Alice Achola Oreng and Mama Rosalia Atieno Oreng. Father to Jane Oreng, Everlyne Oreng,Tom Omil, Walter Oreng, Carolyne Oreng, Daniel Oreng, Dorsila Ayoyo, Susan Oreng, Naomi Oreng, Zackary Ochieng, Celine Aoko, Mathews Nyadwa, Samwel Otieno, Damarice Wakwaya, Dickson Ouma, Jenipher Akinyi, and Nashon Juma.

Father-in-law to Robert Omondi, Peter Mboya, Jackline Omil, Synthia Odede, James Bosse, Sophy Aluoch, Agnes Nyadwa, Elizabeth Otieno,Wycliffe Omollo and Hazel Ochieng.

Brother to the late Tabitha Aduwo, Prisca Oyoto, the late Johnstone Agwambo, Rev.Apollo Onyango, the late Atieno Juma, the late David Juma, Rev. Joseph Ondiek, the late Philister Ogola, Musa Ogolla and Nickanor Ogolla.

The late Nelson was In-law to the late Walter Omuony, the Orindas’, the Oderas’, the Aluochs’, the Adalas’, the Omollos’, the Olelas’, and the Okumus’.

Cousin to Nervy Alindi, jack Asila,Tom Akello, Joe Ageyo, Jack Akello, Leonard Alindi, Shem Omullo, Peter Adunga and also an uncle to so many.

Grandfather to the late Eugene, Hillary, Jean, the late Whitney, Daisy, Flay, Briana, Effie, Hope, Joy, Kinsy, Kelly, Peter, AJ, Jaj, Ebby, Stecy, Stephanie, Emmanuel, Natasha, Ricky, Edwin, Sylvia, Peter, Margret, Wilson, Jonathan, Yvett, Aedi, Gloria, Joylene, Raymond, Sebastian, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for Prayer and funeral arrangements at his home in Uyoma Katweng’a, Nyaguda Village.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu on 10th February, 2023 for an overnight vigil at his home. The burial ceremony will be held on 11th February, 2023 in Uyoma Katweng’a, Nyaguda Village, Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County.
