Mzee Paul Mbatia Githaiga

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Paul Mbatia Githaiga, which occurred on 30th April 2023, following a long illness.

He was born in 1944 in Kiruri village, Kanyenyaini, Muranga to the late Eliud Githaiga Gakobo and late Ruth Njeri Eliud. He was son in law to Ex. Senior Chief Joseph Muruatetu and Hannah Nyenje Muruatetu.

He was a loving brother to the late Willy Gakobo, Diana Njeri, the late Mathew Gachu, the late Susan Wanjiku, Francis Muraya, Bernard Mwai and the late Jathan Thiga.

He was cousin to Dr. Mugo, Mrs. Muthondu and many more.

He was loving husband to Marjorie Wanjuki Mbatia and father to Queen Karimi,Teresa Wanjiru, Florence Njeri, George Githaiga Mbatia and Beth Wanjira. He was grandfather to Amasai Muruatetu Githaiga. He was an uncle and grandfather to many.

His brothers and sisters’ in-law included the late Bernard Kivara, Elizabeth Gitiri, Rose Njoki, Antony Gikuvi, Patrick, Wilson, Mary, Jennifer among others.

Friends and family continue meeting in Komarock Estate daily from 4pm to 7pm for prayers.

Requiem mass will be held at Holy Family Basilica Cathedral Nairobi on 10th May 2023 at 1.30 pm.

Funeral will be held on 16th May 2023 at 10am at his farm in Engashura, Bahati in Nakuru North, Nakuru.
