Nancy Gakiri Otieno (Munyi)

With profound sadness we announce the death of Nancy Gakiri Otieno (Munyi), formerly of Ahero County Hospital, Kisumu County which occurred on 28th April 2019 at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi after a short illness.

Wife to William Otieno Ogola (LBDA/Ministry of EAC & Regional Development, Nairobi). She was daughter to the late Mzee Suleiman Munyi (Gacume) & Lucia Gaconi & Edda Wakina (Step Mom) of Mugoi and Gikuuri, Embu County; Sephania Ogola & Jennifer Adwar (In laws). Loving mother to Eric Mutembei, Tresa Adhiambo, Sephan Ogola & Lucy Muthoni, Elly Odhiambo, Bernard Akinyi, Denis Akinyi, Caren Achieng’, Esther Atieno, Teresa Adhiambo and Mikal Awuor. Mother in law to Carolyne Wangari Kariuki of Nanyuki & Davis Kibet of Litein. Grandma to Kendra Gakiri Mutembei. She was sister to Simba, Dhaara, Nyaga (UoEm), Gicoci (late),Wanja, Muthoni,Warue, Njoki, Njeri (KRA),  Gitonga (CMC), Kariuki, Njue, Wawera, Wanjira, Kagendo (MoE-Nduuri) and Karemi (Judiciary Nakuru). Cousin to Nthiga (fmrly of Kakuzi), Eng. Albert Mugo (fmr CEO Kengen), Mugendi & Njoki among others of Embu County.

Brothers in Law; John Ondhoro, George Akinyi (fmr MoE – Nyando), Ogiro Ogola, Pius Anyango, Malala Chumbe, Odoyo Opon, Lang’o Opon, Opon Oliech (late), Odera Nyagwa, jagi, Karanga, Kamau, Ndwiga among others. Sisters in Law; Margaret Owino, Benta Ondiek, Arose Ogonda, Persilla Nyariwo, Mula (late), Aoko Otwala, Okoko Ageke, Atieno Agola, Dr Milcah (UoEm),Wanjuki (MoH Mugui), Njeri (J) among others. Co-wives; Mary Osumba, Teresa Adhiambo, Jane Akinyi, Justine Akinyi, Angeline Ogiro, Consolata Anyango, Sophia Opon, Phoebe Nyagwa. Other Fathers in Law were; the Onims- Chumbe, Opon, Masero, Ogundo, Owiti, Athembo, Opiyo, Yamo, Afwambo, Nyagol & Opudo. Aderos – Opon, Oliech & Oluoch and Oleches – Nyaoke, Oyucho & Akwanya.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 11th May 2019 at her home in Kamagaga – Konim Village (next to St Peters Konim Secondary School / Boya Police Station- Ahero), Onjiko Location in Kisumu County.
