It is with heavy hearts that we the Abura family announce the death of Lydia Achieng’ Abura, who passed away on 20th October 2016. at Kenyatta National Hospital, following a short illness.
Achieng’ was a loving and devoted mother of Prince Abura and cherished daughter of the late Johnson Abura and the late Isabella Abura of Kipsitoi farm, Songhor. She is preceded in death by her treasured brothers and sisters, Carren Macpherson. Jack Abura, Lameck Abura, Ken Abura and Janet Chcptoo Abura. She is survived by her sisters Joan Abura, and Lynette Dawa. She was aunty of the late Geoffrey, Sharon, Patncia, John Mark Lameck, Andrew, Isabella, Jackson, Michelle, Peter, Jeanette, Simon and Randy. Sister-in-law of the late Torn Macpherson. Betty Abura. and Sam Dawa. Niece of mama Leah Odida, Prof. Eric Odada, Prof Ernest Odera Odada, Mama Jane Elsa Oyoo among others.
Family and friends are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements at All Saints Cathedral on Tuesday, 25th October 2016 and Wednesday, 26th October 2016 at 5:00 pm.
There will be a major fundraising to cover funeral expenses on Thursday, 27th October at All Saints Cathedral at 5pm.

Achieng’ the world is better for your having lived. We are better for having known you, for our lives were complete in so many ways with you.

Aunt to Nicholas, Silvanus, Daisy, among others. Cousin to Tito, Rachael, Beatrice, Rawago, Miriam, the Odinga’s, Owaka’s and the Okello’s among others.

The body leaves Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Funeral Home on Friday (Today) October 21, 2016 for a requiem mass at Our Lady of Assumption, Majengo, Eldoret.

Burial is on Saturday October 22, at Dudi Village, Kisa West Location, Kakamega County.
