We, the family of the late Hon. Daniel Lyula Khamasi, sincerely thank God and all who stood with us through prayers, presence, messages of condolence, and every form of support as we laid to rest our beloved husband, father, grandfather, loyal friend, and respected leader.
We are deeply grateful to H.E.William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya; H.E.Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary; Hon, Jonathan Mueke, Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development; H.E. Fernandes Barasa, Governor, Kakamega County; H.E. Paul Otuoma, Governor, Busia County; Hon. Boni Khalwale, Senator, Kakamega County; Hon. Elsie Muhanda,Woman Representative, Kakamega County; Hon. Fred lkana, MP, Shinyalu Constituency; Members of the County Assembly, Kakamega County; and Hon. David Musila, Hon. Sylverse Lisamula, and Patrick Murenyi !sal for their support and solidarity during this difficult time.
We especially acknowledge Mzee Daniel Mbero, Mzee John Shikanga, Fredrick Mugonyi, and Patrick-Papa Shitambasi who constantly kept our father company at his home; and Hon. Boni Khalwale and Hon. Elsie Muhanda for personally visiting Dad during his illness.
Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Friends Church – Shamiloli, Kariakor, and Langata Monthly Meetings; our relatives from Musingu-Kakamega, Imilonje-Kakamega, Ileho-Kakamega, Ndundu-Kirinyaga, Misemwa-Bungoma, Mbilini-Kangundo, and Munyu—Naivasha; our neighbors from Manyani, Shamiloli Village and Kariakor; ASSETs; the Shamiloli Funeral Committee; AvalinaVi Sheywe; the Parliamentary Service Commission; the Old Mutual Group, Kenya; the Ministry of Health — Nairobi County Public Health Department; former NHIF staff; Nairobi School Class of 1991; Khamasi Atlanta/USA friends; Jamhuri Classic Golf Club, Atlanta; Batsunga Union; Mukumu Girls Alumni; 1999 PHT Class and all who contributed to ensuring our Dad received a befitting send-off.
Special appreciation goes to his attending cardiologist and the entire medical teams at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi and MP Shah Hospital, Nairobi for their professional care and compassion towards Mzee during his illness. With gratitude, we appreciate and acknowledge Mr. Eric Mwangi, his nurse aide, for his tireless care, compassion, and dedication by Dad’s side over the years.
We are not able to acknowledge all who came to our aide, kindly receive our gratitude.
Dad was laid to rest on 3rd January 2026 at his home in Shamiloli, Kakamega which he dearly loved.
