We, the family of the late Elder (Rtd) Julius Wamanji Kariuki, extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loved ones, friends, and well-wishers for the overwhelming support, prayers and kindness during this difficult time. Your comforting messages, visits, calls, presence and shared memories of the late Elder Wamanji have uplifted us and were a source of strength and solace.

We the family of Rahab Nyang’endo Wambugu extend our gratitude to St Andrews Church, Nairobi together with Prof Daniel Ichang’i, Veronica Wambugu, Joe Karanja & the Woman’s Guild for walking us/ with us through to the day we buried her henceforth.

We deeply appreciate both the medical team at the Shree Swaminarayan Hospital, Lang’ata that served her in the final days of her life and Montezuma Funeral Parlour in Nairobi. We appreciate all others who have played supportive roles in the process.

Our sincere gratitude go to you; relatives, friends and neighbours for your messages of condolences and comfort, the kindness and sympathy shown to us, moral and financial support, your overall presence during this period of mourning the i6ss of our loved one and specifically for being there with us at the point of the interment of our beloved mother, grandmother, sibling and aunt.

We, the family of Evanson Muriithi Mukira wish to express our profound gratitude to all those who provided us with overwhelming support following Muriithrs sudden illness and subsequent demise. We in particular wish to thank and acknowledge the following: – USC Arcadia Hospital in California USA and its medical team who attended to Muriithi with dedication and compassion during his short illness. We are also grateful to the entire USA team comprising friends, relatives and Evanson colleagues.

Special thanks go out to the ACK Diocese of Mt Kenya West under the able leadership of the bishop the Rt. Rev. Gerald Mureithi and retired bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Kagunda for their support and words of encouragement. During our time of deep sorrow, we have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from our family, friends and community.Your kindness, through your presence, words of encouragement and support financially and in-kind, have provided us with strength and comfort as we bid our beloved Damien fondly known farewell.

We, Prof. C.K. Maitai and the entire family of the late Agatha Nyambura Maitai, express our-heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers extended to us during her illness and after her demise. We thank God for His goodness and for blessing us with Mum for 82 wonderful years. Truly, we have felt His presence and comfort even in this difficult season. Our special thanks go to Jalaram Hospital (Dr. Raja), the Aga Khan Hospital, especially Dr. Warshow, Dr. Sheikh, Dr Njoki, Dr Otieno, nursing care team (James Ogolla, Stanley Simwa) and the entire medical team for their support and compassionate care. We sincerely thank jetFlair Ambulances and Eagles Ambulance Service for the multiple trips they made to and from the hospital. We deeply appreciate Mum’s dedicated caregivers—Beatrice, Precious, Mary, Susan and Grace—for ensuring she received the very best care at her Loresho home.

The immediate family sincerely appreciate all the support they received – in prayers, condolences and material – from friends and well wishers.

We also thank Mum’s friends and Rosary group, led by Mrs. Kariuki, for standing faithfully with her in prayers and for companionship. To the professional colleagues of Mum and Prof. C. K. Maitai, including the nursing community (and former colleagues of Mum from Kenyatta National Hospital), and the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya, the University of Nairobi, and all international professional colleagues who condoled with us – we thank you.

The family of the late Mrs.Teresa Njoki Gachiri, beloved wife of Major Dr. Joseph R. Gachiri, wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the Almighty God for His grace and strength during this difficult period. It is through His mercy that we have been able to walk this journey and to accord our dear Teresa a befitting send-off.

The Church: We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Church for the immense spiritual support, prayers, and guidance given to us throughout the funeral process. In particular, we thank the priests of St. Austin’s Parish, led by Father George and Father Henry, who participated fully during the Requiem Mass held on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at St. Austin’s Catholic Parish. Your presence and ministry uplifted us and reminded us of God’s enduring love. Special thanks go to Father Ignatius, who faithfully walked with Teresa spiritually for four years. He provided her with the Sacrament of the Eucharist every week without fail.Your humility, spirituality, and steadfast faith gave Teresa the strength to endure her illness without ever losing faith in God. We also sincerely thank the Catholic Women’s Association of St. Austin’s Parish, who walked with Teresa throughout her illness and made regular visits to her home in Lavington.Your companionship and love assured her that she was never alone. To the Youth Choir of St. Austin’s Parish, who participated fully during both the Requiem Mass and the funeral service at our home in Kinangop – your angelic voices lifted our hearts and reminded us of the joy of eternal life.

Medical Fraternity: To the doctors, nurses, and support staff who took care of Teresa during her illness, we extend our heartfelt thanks. In particular, we recognise the Nairobi Hospital Renal Unit and the many physicians at Nairobi Hospital who attended to Teresa with dedication and compassion. We ask the Almighty to continue blessing you with the spirit of love, kindness, and compassion in your noble service to patients.

Muthoni’s Chama: Special thanks go to my daughter Muthoni’s Chama. This group of young women stood with our family throughout the entire period of Teresa’s illness, They were by our side every step of the way – more than friends, they truly became family.Their organisational skills during the planning and preparation for Teresa’s send-off were world-class.

Appreciation: As a family, we promise to stand with them in both good times and in challenging times, just as they have stood with us.

Organisations and Groups: We are sincerely grateful to the many organisations and groups who supported us during this most difficult and trying time. Of special mention are: 1. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), where Muthoni has been working over the years. 2. The Fraternity of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, where Major Dr. Gachiri J.R. has served for decades. 3. The Kenya Defence Forces, both serving and retired officers, led by Major General (Dr.) Ng’ang’a. 4. My colleague consultants in both Mater Hospital and Nairobi Hospital, who provided spiritual, emotional, and material support.Your unwavering presence was the backbone that enabled us to prepare a befitting send-off. 5. Members of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), including George Gikonyo Gachiri’s (F1A, CERA) classmates from the University of Kent and the Kenyan Actuarial community. 6. The classmates of Kennedy Kiminda Gachiri, both at Alliance High School and his friends from the United States.

Family and Friends: Since the passing of our beloved Teresa, we have received overwhelming support – spiritually, emotionally, and financially – from many individuals, organisations, and groups. It’s been a year since you left, yet your voice echoes in our hearts, your love guides us, and your absence is deeply felt every day. You are forever missed by your loving wife Molly. Your children; David, Lynette, Oscar, Rosslyne. Your siblings; Clement, Caroline together with your entire family and friends.

Today marks the 1st anniversary since you went to be with the Lord, not a day passes by without us thinking about you. Every laugh you shared, every word of guidance and encouragement, every moment of quiet strength and resolve echoes in our lives.

No words can express how much we love and miss you mama. Dearly missed by your husband Peter Bwombuna, Children; Dr. Brian and Dr. Beatrice, Emily and Bernard, Grandchildren; Ryan Teya, Timona Mamu, Andrew Oroko, Kelly Nyaboke and Samara Mokeira. The extended family and friends.

We, the family of Bwombuna are deeply thankful to all friends and family near and far for the prayers, support and comforting messages we received.
