Forever In Our Hearts

It’s exactly one year since the cruel hand of death snatched you from us. No words can express the magnitude of our loss; No tears can reduce the pain and grief we have gone through. Through it all we anchor our hope in God’s Promise in Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.

Appreciation

Following the demise and subsequent burial of the late Patrick Milimu Shilasi (Omar Bongo) we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all those who walked with us the journey from the time he was taken ill until when we laid him to rest.

First and foremost we want to thank UNICEF through Cigna International who for over 30 years stood in the gap and took care of his medical expenses until his demise. The Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu and Nairobi, Oasis Hospital in Kakamega. The Doctors who walked with him through this journey Dr. Ahmed Ali Yousef, Dr. Jill Singh, Dr. Jayden, Dr. Ngunga, Dr. Otieno the cardiologist.

Our appreciation also goes to Shirulu Parish Catholic Church, CMAK, Shikulu Jumuia, and ACK Embakasi. We want to thank the lbarimbuli Community and Makhaya clan, the committees both in Nairobi and at home in Kakamega, brothers, sisters , cousins, uncles aunties, brother in laws and sister in laws, nephews nieces, and neighbours.

We may not be able to mention everyone, but our gratitude goes to everyone who stood with us during the trying moment. May Almighty God bless you abundatly.

The family of Mama Grace Kavai Amuguni extends our deepest and most heartfelt thanks, to all who stood with us following the passing of our beloved Henry Amena Amuguni (24th August 1968 – 16th May 2025).

To our dear friends, relatives, and neighbours—your prayers, visits. kind words, and presence brought us strength and comfort during an incredibly difficult time. We felt your love and support deeply.

With deep appreciation, we thank Nairobi Chapel Ngong Road and Vung’ali PAG Church for surrounding us with spiritual strength and for leading the memorial and funeral services with a comforting presence and heartfelt care.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the World Bank Group, Ernst & Young, and the Braeside School fraternity for honouring Henry’s professional journey and legacy. We, the family of Elder Charity Muthoni Kiarie, wish to convey our heartfelt appreciation to all who stood with us following the peaceful resting in the Lord of our beloved matriarch, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Your prayers, presence, and generous support – both emotional and financial -uplifted us during this difficult time and enabled us to celebrate her impactful life with grace and dignity.

We extend special thanks to PCEA Nakuru West Presbytery, led by Rev. Eliud Kirira, Nakuru West Suburb Church, PCEA Damascus Mwariki Church and the entire Woman’s Guild fraternity, your spiritual nourishment and exemplary leadership brought great comfort to our family and honoured our mother’s legacy beautifully.

We are also grateful to PCEA St. Andrews Church, ACC&S Church, and Ridgeways Baptist Church for their fellowship during the Nairobi comfort services: Our heartfelt thanks also go to All Saints Goshen ACK Church in Tacoma, Seattle, and the Houston Kenyan Community in the US for standing with us in prayer and support during this season.

Time speeds on and now one year has passed since death cast its gloom and shadow within our home and took from us our shining light, but our memories of you are a gift to treasure; you were our pillar of strength, your wisdom and generosity will remain our guiding light. Our tears freely flow knowing that you were a father whose worth can never be told. The void you left is huge but God has lifted us to a place of comfort, peace, strength and your spirit lives within us knowing that there can never be another one like you in our hearts. We hold dearly to the virtues, values and guidance that you bestowed upon all of us.

We wish to express our gratitude to our many loving relatives, friends, neighbours, in laws, clergy and well wishers who stood and continue to stand with us.
