The cortege leaves Aga Khan University Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, 28th August 2025. Burial will take place at her home in Khalaba Village, Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County, on Saturday, 30th August 2025.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday the 21st of August 2025 at Kirungii Pentecostal Church, Kangemi from 8:00am.

We are saddened to announce the death of Mzee George Joseck Masita, an ordained elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who served faithfully in Kenya and Canada. Mzee Masita was born on 25 November 1944 in Kisii, Kenya.

He was the beloved son of the late Elijah Opande and the late Mama Rebecca Bonareri.

Beloved husband of Mary Moraa Masita, and loving father of Sarah (Canada), Armstrong (Kenya),Tracey (Canada), Lillian (Kenya), Joshua (Saudi Arabia), Zipporah (Canada) and Enock (Kenya). He leaves behind twenty- six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (Levi and Noah). He is predeceased by his son Samuel.

Mzee Masita was a cherished brother of Mikael Sorobi, Elizabeth Kerubo, Mary Nyamokami, the late Pastor David Mbwaro, and Peninah Moraa. He was an uncle to many nephews and nieces.

At his core, Mzee Masita was a man of faith, family, and integrity. Mzee Masita served as a Police Officer with the Kenya Police for fifteen years. He later joined the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI), where he worked until the year 2000, the year he relocated to Canada, where he lived until his passing.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, 22 August, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (ET) at Scarborough SDA Church, 4350 Lawrence Avenue E, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2700 Kingston Rd, Scarborough. Ontario-Canada IMS.
