She was the beloved wife of Titus Mukunda Kanyi. Mother of Michael Nyaga, James Kairu, Penny Maina, Jean Martha Njoki, Carol Muturi, Susan Mburu and Paniel Kanyi all of USA.

In-law of Paul Kanjau, Joseph Mburu, and Carol Kanyi. Grandmother of Myles Rutto, Elaina Rutto,Alyssa Maina, Janelle Muturi, Serah Muturi, Bethany Muturi, Nathan Mburu, Njeri Mburu, Caelynn Kanyi, and Eli Mukunda.

Sister of the late Magdalene Wamuyu, Joyce Wangui, Stephen Kariuki, Purity Wanjiru Mahugu, Rufus Ndegwa,Agnes Muthoni Mbogo, and the late Jackson Muriu.

Sister-in-law of Edwina Wanjiku Kariuki, Rose Wambui Ndegwa, and Margaret Wanjiku Muriu, Mahugu and Mbogo.

Family and friends are meeting at their home in Thika for prayers and burial preparations.

Burial date and service will be on 12th August 2025 at the ACK Church Kanyenyaini Murang’a and later proceed to the burial site at Kanyenyaini village.

 

Mzee Ellis H. Ominde

With profound sorrow, heavy hearts, and abiding faith in God, Marell Schools announce the passing of the founding Director Mzee Ellis H. Ominde on Monday, August 4, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with illness.

He was the youngest son of the late Mzee Adonijah Ngorere arid the late Truphosa Tabwa.

He was a devoted husband of his beloved wife, Merab Atola Ominde, and a loving father of George Oliya, Brenda Narah, Dr. Sheila Tabwa, Norine Angulu, Eng. Pamella Amambia, Dr. Beryl Shitandi, Sharon Migalitza, Eng. Merlyne lndeche, Doris Andayi (wakili) and James Ngorere.

Mzee Ellis was a brother of the late Herbert Ouko, the late Bakhoya Ominde, Zaddock Ambutsi, Gideon Akwabi, the late Atsengo, the late Esire, and Christabel lndeche.

He was a cherished father-in-law of Laura Luvembe, Kaivon Paroo, Dr Mike Mulongo, Eng. Kevin Odhiambo, Tem Minishi, and Japheth Makhokha.

A doting grandfather of Kayla, Deysha, Ayanna, Aurnatage, the late baby Ellis, Sheran, Mideva, Liora, Ineza, the lace baby Polarien, Adelya, and Lankanar. The late Ellis Ominde was a beloved brother, friend, uncle, and mentor to many.

Funeral arrangement meetings are being held daily at his residence in Kanduyi, Bungoma, from 3:00 p.m.

He will be laid to rest at his home in Kanduyi, Bungoma, on Friday,August IS, 2025.

Teresa Njoki Gachiri

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Teresa Njoki Gachiri, wife of Major Doctor J.R Gachiri, on 5th August 2025 after a short illness.

Teresa was the beloved daughter of the late Peter Gikonyo Kambo and the late Esther Wambui Gikonyo of Marmanet, Nyahururu. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Paul Kiminda Thuita and Elizabeth Muthoni Kiminda of Wanyororo, Nakuru County.

She was a doting mother of Maureen Muthoni Gachiri, Kennedy Kiminda Gachiri and George Gikonyo Gachiri. She was the grandmother of Maxwell James Gachiri Kiminda.

She was a sister of Vincent Kambo, the late Immaculate Njeri, Pius Ndirangu, Annie Wairuri, Gikonyo Mwangi, Francis Ndungu and Cecilia Wanjiku. She was a sister in-law, a cousin, an aunt and a friend to many.

Further information regarding the funeral arrangement and burial will be communicated at a later date.

There will be meetings for funeral arrangements on Monday 11th August 2025 and Wednesday 13th August 2025 at Consolata Shrine, Allamano Center.

Beloved wife of Samuel Kariuki Njoroge of Cave Emporium, Eldoret and Nyamuthanga. Loving mother of Peris Wanjiku, late George Njoroge, Peter Gitau and Emily Wanjiku, Martha Wanjiku and Samuel Macharia.

Daughter of the late Gitau Karuku and the late Martha Wanjiku of Gatamaiyu Village Kiambu County. A grandmother to many. Sister of late Nyambura, late Njeri, late Nyagathii, Nyokabi, Wacu, Wambui, Wangui, Kamau, Nyakarura and Nganga.

Daughter-in-law of the late Greshon Njoroge and the late Peris Wanjiku. Sister-in-law of Nyokabi, late VVaithima. Njoki and Wanyoike.

The cortege will leave Mukoe Funeral Home Githunguri on Friday, 8th August 2025. Funeral service and burial will be held on the same day at Nyamuthanga Village, Kamburu Location, Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalissa (Kabati) at 8.00 a.m on Friday, 15th August, 2025 for a Church service at St. Anne’s Gathinja Church, Murangla followed by interment at his Muirigo home.

Catherine Wanjiru Gikuhi TSC Sub County Director, Juja Sub County, Kiambu County

Born: 22/4/1969 – Died: 4/8/2025

It is with profound grief that we announce the demise of Catherine Wanpiru Gikuhi which occurred on 4th August 2025 after an illness bravely borne.

She was the beloved daughter of late Peter Gikuhi Ndegwa and Mary Nyambura Gikuhi and loving mother of Mary Ann Nyambura of Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School.

She was a sister of George Ndegwa and Sophia Ndegwa, Patrick Ngunjiri and late Catherine Nyambura, John Mwangi and Micheal Waruhiu. She was a doting aunt and cousin to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Murang’a Teachers College, and family home in Mbogoini, St Andrews Church Nairobi on Thursday 7th August and Friday 8th August 2025.

There will be a requiem mass at Don Bosco Catholic Church Makuyu on Monday 11th at 4.00pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Referral Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday 13th August 2025 at 7:30am and funeral service from 11.00am at Tumu Tumu, Mathira West.

Mwalimu James Mwangi Wanjau

The family of Mwalimu James Mwangi Waniau of Kamacharia village, Mathioya sub-county, Murang’a County regrets to announce his transition to higher glory on Tuesday 29th July, 2025 at Mwai Kibaki Level 6 Hospital, Othaya.

He is the husband of Abigael Njoki Mwangi and son of the late William Wanjau Kung’u and Nancy Gachambi Waniau. Father of Nancy Gachambi Mwangi, William Wanjau Mwangi, Washington Kamau Waniau, Newton King’ara Magu, the late Nicholas Muta Mwangi and Lydia Wangui Mwangi. He is the father-in-law of Nancy Wangari Wanjau, Loise Wanjiru Wanjau, Evelyn Wanjiru Gitachu and Samuel Njuki Kariithi.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his Kamacharia village home from 4:30p.m for prayers and funeral arrangements and at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th August 2025.

The cortege leaves Mwai Kibaki Funeral Home Othaya at 8:00a.m on Saturday 9th August 2025 for funeral service at his Kamacharia village home, 10.00am.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the demise of our beloved Patriarch Stephen Mwaura Kimani on Sunday 3rd August.

He was the son of late Andrea K.mani, late Damaris Njeri and late Lucy Nyambura.

Loving husband of the late Pauline Wambui Mwaura.

He was son in law of the late Genue Rimui and are Esther Waniiku of Gitiha Kiambu.

He was a brother of Sera Gathoni Peter kungu James Ndungu, Peter Kangethe. Mary Wambui and the late Gideon Mwaura, Zakaria Mburu, Sera Gathoni, Esther Nyokabi, Gladys Wanjiru, Mary Wangui and Daniel Ndungu.

Caring farther of Lucy Njeri and James Gichuhi, Agnes Wanliku and Peter Ndungu, Joseph Kimani and Veronica wairimu, Genue Rimui and Martha Wanjiku, Mary Njeri and Jesse Kibandi, Sara Muthoni and Thomas Wachira, Esther Wangui and late Hanna Nyambura.

Adoring grandfather of Mwauras, Warnbuis, Wanyoike, Nyokabi, Wanjiru, Waithera and many others. He has left behind 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and a great great grand child.

Burial arrangements are taking place at his home Kitale —Orone farm and Kitale town Mama Njuguna Hotel.

The cortege will leave Cherangani Funeral home on Saturday 9/8/2025 at 9:00am for a funeral service at his home Kitale -Matisi —Orone farm there after the Burial will be at his farm Wamuini B Mabonde from 2pm.

It is with humble acceptance that the State Department  for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy wishes to announce the passing on of Robert Mumbo Agengo who until his demise on 18/7/2025 at Prime Care Centre in Kisumu, was a Senior Driver in the State Department.

He was son of the late Barack Ageng’o Okombo and Mama Christine Auma Ageng’o of North Nyakach Location, Gem Rae Sub-Location Koloo Village.

He is husband of Hellen Anyango Ojany and father-of Arnold Agengo, Andy Gibbs Ojany, Agustinos Mbata Mumbo and Robert Mumbo Mumbo.

Brother of Corbert Mbatha, Ken Olidho, Vera Agengo, Martha Oketch and Ida Obwanga.

Son-in-law of the late Agustinos Ojany and late Mama Monica Ojany of Kajulu Kamenya.

Brother in-law of Andrew, James, Pius, Paul and Job. His sister in-laws are Ruth, Doreen, Grace, Lucy, Lorretta and others.

Lilian Ngoiri Kiburu

Death has occurred of Lilian Ngoiri Kiburu (formerly of East African Portland Cement) while undergoing treatment in India.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Kiburu and Mrs Jane Kiburu.

She is survived by her children, Maureen, Nikitta and Nathan.

She was sister of Dr Lydiah Kiburu, late Alice Kiburu, Catherine Kiburu Nganga & Martin Nganga, the late Charity Kiburu, Allan Kiburu & Carol Gesare.

She was a loving auntie of many Lilian Ngoiri Kiburu nieces and nephews.

She was niece of Veronica Njoroge of Nembu, Tom Maara Gichuhi Margaret Gichuhi, Mr & Mrs Philip Kinuthia, Mr & Mrs Ngugi Gichuhi, Mr Kangethe & Rev Mrs Mary Kangethe, among others. She was a member of the Bahasha group of cousins.

The family is meeting at their home in Nembu Sub-location, Gatundu South.

There will be prayers at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th August 2025 from 5.30pm.
