It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Esther Wahito Kinuthia, a.beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on August 4, 2025. E

sther was the devoted wife of the late John Kinuthia Gathiru, and the loving daughter of the late Nelson Macharia and Miriam Wairimu of Gathiruini, Komothai.

She was a cherished mother of Silas Kinuthia of Worcester, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Wambui of Kiambaa, Muguga, Paul Macharia of Worcester, Massachusetts, Miriam .Kinuthia-Wesonga of Worcester, Massachusetts, Samuel Chege of Kiambaa, Muguga, Peninah Waithera of Toronto, Canada.

She was a beloved mother-in-law of Catherine Gathiru, Catherine Macharia, and Francis Wesonga.

A loving grandmother of John Kinuthia Wambui, John, Jeff, and Nalla Gathiru, John, Esther, and Michael Macharia, Jeff and Abigail Wesonga.

She was also a dear sister of Samuel Ndung’u, Joseph Kibe, Peninnah Waithera, Rahab Wambui, ames Muhia, and Rachel Wanjiru.

Esther’s life was one of quiet strength, deep faith, and enduring love. She touched many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral Arrangements: Family and friends are meeting daily at the family residence in Kiambaa, Muguga for prayers and support. The body is currently at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital Mortuary.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at PCEA Nyarugumu Church, Kiambaa, Muguga. Interment will follow thereafter at her farm in Muguga Site.

Father-in-law of Juanita Gaiter, Johan Davidsson, Henry Kissinger, Evans Mogaka, Mario Tendwa, Fash Hash Duale, Hon. Oscar Sudi.

Grandfather of Marcus, Tess Davidsson, Malic Ooga, Charlotte Ooga, Valentine, Michael, Saul, Leo, Chirchir, Eugene, Tess Kissinger, Rachel Boss,Yoanita, Chris, Bethesda.

Brother-in-law of the late Benjamin Makori Openda, the late Oesensia Nyabonyi Gichana, the late Jane Oigo, Michael Omayo Openda, Pauline Aberi, Elizabeth O’ngombe and Adv. Fredrick Ondigo.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his Mwembe Tayari home – Kisii, Rikenye Marani home and Waridi Hotel Hurligham – Nairobi.

Main fundraiser is scheduled on 13th August 2025 at all Saints Cathedral.

The cortege leaves Eldoret hospital Morgue for mass at Kisii Cathedral Church, Mwembe. Thereafter body departs for Rikenye, Marani home. Burial is on 22nd August 2025. Funeral service will take place at Marani stadium grounds,

We are saddened to announce the death of Joseph Okeyo Ojwang which abruptly occurred on the night of 4th July 2025.

He was the son of the late Ezekiah Ojwang and Lydia Atieno Alongo Ojwang (Kati).

He was the husband of the late Jane Akinyi Ojwang and Janet Aloo Ojwang.

His step moms are Truphosa Aidi, Nyosomba, Elizabeth, Siprosa and Sebi.

Father of the late Lilian Atieno (Dani), the late Rennish Akello Okeyo (Carro), Consollata Nkatha (Coni), Boaz Hawkins Okeyo, Victor Ojwang, Gorrety Anyango, Samwel David Okeyo, Wicklife Ojwang, Beryl Akinyi Okeyo, Nelly Atieno Okeyo, Rubin Lydia Ojwang and Ezekiel Tsombe Ojwang.

Brother of Fredrick Ojwang, Johnson Ojwang, Erick Aoga Ojwang, Joshua Ojwang, Paul Ojwang, Okinyi Ojwang and Moses. He was an uncle, cousin, grandfather and great-grandfather to many.

The cortege leaves Med 25 Kirindo Mortuary on 7th August 2025 at 7.00 am to his residence in Rusinga, thereafter the body will be ferried to Mfangano at 11.00 am. The funeral service will be held by Uozi SDA Church at his residence in Uozi village thereafter the burial will follow.

Born in 1938 in Kapsaos, Kapsaos Ward, Ainamoi Sub-County, Kericho County, the late Richard was a beloved son of the late Mosonik Chepkwony Arap Leitich and the late Tapramgoi Leitich, stepson of Taplelei and Tabuson. Son-in-law of Kipngerechi Arap Chebos and Recho Taputanuy Chebos.

He was a loving husband of Susana Chemutai Chepkwony. Father of Henry (Taiwet Tea Factory), the late George, Clara (Sotik) and Lynette (USA).

Brother of the late Taprandich, the late Cheres `Muranga’, John Chepkwony (Kelji-Uasin Gishu), Josphat Sigilai (Eldoret), the late John Chepkwony (Momoniat), Rusi Masit, Raeli Mosonik, Cabot James, Esther Mosonik, Esther Lelei, the late Bernard Chepkwony, Daniel Barno, the late Jimmy Towett, the late Nelson Chepkwony, Sammy Chepkwony (Motiryot), Caroline Chepkemoi and Pastor Emily Bett. Great-grandfather of Kipletyen Kiprotich.

Friends and Family are meeting daily at his home in Tugunon, Kapteigo and AGC Emmanuel Church Hall – Kericho for prayers and funeral arrangements.

There will be a fund raising at 5.30pm on Saturday 9th August 2025 at AGC Emmanuel Church – Kericho and another one on Sunday 10th August 2025 at home in Tugunon Farm, Kapteigo.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home Nairobi on Wednesday 13th August 2025 followed by a service at Kapteigo AGC Church. The funeral service will be done on Thursday 14th August 2025 at Kaboloin Primary School. He will be laid to rest at his home in his Tugunon farm, Kapteigo.

1962 – 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Lucy Wanjiku Wanjohi, formerly of the Parliament of Kenya on 1st August 2025.

Lucy was the beloved wife of Charles Wanjohi and a devoted mother of Mark Muriuki, Joan Wairimu and Joshua Wachira. She was a loving mother-in-law of Margaret Mukami and a doting grandmother of Ethan and Ivan.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Joshua Wachira Mbataru and Susan Gathigia, and daughter-in-law of the late Stephen Muriuki and the late Priscah Mumbi Muriuki.

Lucy was a dear sister of Angela Kamenju, Margaret Muthoni, Antonella Wamuyu, Anne Wangechi, Peter Wachira, Francis Mathenge, Joseph Ngure, the late Caroline Wachira and Thuguri Wachira, She was also a treasured aunty, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to many.

Family and friends are gathering daily at 6.30PM at her home in Kahawa Sukari to offer condolences and make funeral arrangements.

A requiem mass will be held on Thursday, 7th August 2025 at 2.00PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kahawa Sukari.

The cortege will depart from Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, 9th August 2025 at 6.30AM for the burial service at the family’s Karundas farm in Chaka, Nyeri County where the service will start at 11AM.
