We regret to announce the demise of the Rtd. Col Jimmi Wangome on July 11th 2025 after a long illness bravely borne.

He was the son of the late Snr Chief Robinson Wangome and the late Elizabeth Wanjugu Wangome.

He was the beloved husband of Maureen Kagure Wangome, father of Wanjugu Wangome & Lawrence Muhia, the late Robin Tesfaye Wangome and Adam Mesphine Mwaniki Wangome.

He was a charismatic brother of the late Rtd, Major Jeff Wachira Wangome and Mrs Jeddiah Wangome, the late (Sir) George Thiga and Mrs. Beatrice Thiga, Mrs. Lillies Nyore and the late Paul Nyore, the late Lydia Njeri Kihara and Mr Erastus Kihara, Mrs. Mary Muringi Mbaru and Jimnah Mbaru, the late Ruel Ritho Wangome and the late Isabel Wangome.

Son-in-law of the late Adam Mwaniki and Margaret Wanjiru Mwaniki. Grandfather of Zora Mwiathi Waithera, Zeke Jorwa and Zela-Maria Kagure Muhia. Jimmi was a cousin, uncle and a friend to many.

Relatives and friend continue to condole with the family at their Lavington residence.

His life celebration will be held on Thursday 17th July 2025 at the Lavington United Church from 2.00pm.

The cortege leaves Agakhan Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 17th July 2025 for a brief stop over and viewing at the Odidi’s home in Mamboleo Kisumu, thereafter, proceeds to Karachuonyo, Kanjira. Homabay county for a night vigil. Burial ceremony will be held on Friday 18th July 2025 at their home in Kanjira starting at 9.00am.

Mama Grace will be laid to rest on 18th July at her home in Seme Kadero near Sunrise Secondary School from 10:00 AM.
