It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Mrs. Catherine Muyodi Opecho.

Daughter of the late Mzee Ferdinand Ong’wen and the late Mama Clementina Anyango of Elukongo village, Marachi East Location, Butula, Busia County.

Loving wife of Mr. Innocent Obara Opecho. Loving mother of Linda, the late Sylvia, Jerry, Brenda,Aniala, Mark and Philip. Mother-in-law of James, Emmanuel and Gracejoy. Grandmother of Zoila, Taji and Dahlia.

Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Clement Owori Obara, the late Kanito, the late Egesa (Imuna), Paulo Sanya, the late Nabwire Anjala, the late Veronica Anjala (Mukhana wa Odunga), the late Sofia, the late Auma,Teresa and Gaudencia.

Sister-in-law of the late Angelina, Honori, the late Francisca, Omuse, the late Akumu, Narocho, Nyongesa, Omina, the late john,Akoch, Auma, the late Sammy, Rebecca, Emmanuel, the late Lazarus, Ajiambo, the late Akumu, Jou, the late Knight, Apondi (Sunday), Kalasina, Awino, Nabwire, Sister Cyrilla, Sister Theresa and the Jumas.

Sister of Anerico, the late John,Victor, Ignatius, Everline, jentrix, George and the late Knight Ong’wen.

Cousin of the Musundis, Okwaros, Ondusyes, Osores and others in Muyodi’s family and the Ocholas. Auntie, niece, friend and mentor to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the family homes in Pioneer Estate Phase I B, Nairobi and Emaseno, Mundika.

A requiem mass will be held at the Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home Chapel on June 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on 13th June 2025. A requiem mass ,sill be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish, Mundika on 13th June, 2025 from 2.00 pm, thereafter proceed to her home in Emaseno, Mundika, Busia County. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 14th June, 2025, at Police grounds (Next to Trailer Tourist Inn Hotel) from 9.30 am, followed by burial at her home.

Sir Simeon Kiprotich Korir

It’s with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Sir Simeon Kiprotich Korir, a Procurement Consultant at the Directorate of Public Private Partnership, National Treasury.

He was the son of William Kipkorir Koske and Elizabeth Koske of Chilchila Ward, Kipkelion West Kericho County.

He leaves behind his Lovely wife Anne Korir and children; Faith Chepkoech Korir, Ammon Kipkurui Rotich and Robert Kipchumba Kweley.

He was son in-law of the late Erick Chelule and Esther Chelule.

Mr Korir was brother of Pius, Titus, Late Ridah, Margaret, Lydia, Elkana, Kipchirchir, Silas and Francisca.

He was a loving grand dad of Roman Kibet. Beloved cousin, uncle and friend to many.

Prayers and condolence meetings are being held daily at his Nairobi home and Citam Valley Road daily from 5pm.

There will be a requiem service in his memory at CITAM Karen church, from 10am on 12th June,2025.

Simon Korir will be laid to rest on Saturday 14th June 2025 at his family home in Fort Ternan, Kericho.

Rt. Navy Major Vincent Owuor Ogola (0V)

We regret to annminte the passing of Rt. Navy Major Vincent Owuor Ogola (0V), who rested on Tuesday, 13th May 2025, after a short illness. He was a resident of Nyali Mkomani, Mombasa.

Beloved son of the late Alex and Consolata Ogola. Husband of the late Amina Ogola.

Devoted father of Alex EH Ogola (Near-East University, Cyprus).

Brother of the late Mary and Robert Magak, Roseanne and Charles Nyabera, Aloise and the late Mary Ogola, Emily and Wycliffe Odiwuor, Martin and Eunice Ogola, the late Joseph Ogola, Christine and Robert Ondiba, and Maurice Ogola.

Cherished uncle and grandfather of Noel, Lawrence, Nicole, Andrew,Valarie, James,Achie, the late Allan,Alvin, Austine, Adams, Alicia, Andy, Kelsey, Kayla, Keisha, Tyjani, Jayden, Makayla, Leko, Mateo and Ava.

The funeral will be held at his home in Kanyaboli Alego, Siaya County, on Friday, 20th June 2025.

A fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, 10th June at 5.00pm, at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.

Francis Anthony Ndung’u Mburu

15th September 1968 — 1st June 2025

It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Francis Anthony Ndung’u Mburu on 1st June 2025. Francis was the Director of Goldwings Events Ltd, Nairobi.

He was a devoted husband of Sheila Ndung’u (née Mungai), and a loving father of Zawadi, Taji, and Tamasha.

A cherished son of John and Mary Mburu, and a beloved brother of Charles Mwangi, Patrick Ngugi, Rosemary Wanjiku, and Roselyne Wairimu.

He was son-in-law of the late Professor Joseph Maina Mungai and the late Jane Waminia Mungai. He was also a supportive brother-in-law of Jane Mwangi, Sam Muraguri, Andrew Mungai, Christine Mungai, Bernice and Peter Kimacia, among others. Francis was a dear nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, mentor and an inspiration to many whose lives he touched deeply.

Prayer meetings are being held at the family home in Ridgeways, at Ridgways Brook Gardens, off Kiambu Road, on Friday 6th and Sunday 8th June 2025. Meetings will begin at 2:00pm.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church – Ridgevyays on Wednesday 11th June 2025 at 11700am.

She was the daughter of the late Bernard Chege and the late Eddah Wanjiru Chege, and a daughter-in-law of the late Walter Mathagu and Abishagi Mathagu.

Sister of the late Rose Njambi, John Kimani, the late Peter Karongo, James Waithaka, David Kamau, Joseph Matheri, Samuel Gitau and Joyce Mukami.

Her children are Francis lmbo, Councillor John Onyango, Ambrose Olela, Felistus Awuor, Leo Onyango, Dr. John Bius Awuor, Benedet Ogutu, the late Jenipher Akoth, Archbishop Emeritus Zachaeus Okoth, the late Dorothy Olando, the late Magdalene Okeyo, Philip Odero, Joseph Imbo, Mary Adwet, Dr. Hilary Awuor, Immaculate Mbogo, Treazer Koriko, Collet Onyuka and the late reverent Father James Kisero.

The body is at St Monica Hospital Kisumu, will leave on Friday 6th June 2025 at 12 Noon, and thereafter, a Holly Mass will be conducted at Our lady Of Lourdes Bolo Catholic Church by 3.00PM.

The burial and Mass Service will be conducted on Saturday 7th June 2025 at the Home of Kawuor Imbo, Bolo Location, Nyakach.

Son of the late Fredrick Natabona and Margaret Natabona.

Father of Tevin Natabona and Amalia Natabona.

He was brother of Moses, Francklin, Brian and sister of Everlyne.

Burial preparation are ongoing and meetings are taking place at their family home Khabondi village Busia county.

The cortege leaves St. Francis mortuary in Busia on 6th June 2025 followed by burial ceremony at their family home on 7th June 2025.

 

Priscilla Ndolo Mwanthi

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing of Priscilla Ndolo Mwanthi, who was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, 25th May 2025, after a period of illness. Priscilla Mwanthi Ndolo was born on the of August 1956 at Ngungi village, Kibauni Sub Location, the then Machakos District.

She was the first-born child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mwanthi Ndolo sister of David Kyule Mwanthi, Rev. Peter Mwanthi Ndolo, Jane Mbithe Mwanthi (USA), Bishop Daniel Munro Mwanthi, Titus Kioko Mwanthi and Benson Mutuku Mwanthi.

She was a loving and devoted mother of Irene Kalithi, Joseph Mwanthi and Charles Ndolo. She was a mother-in-law of Alvin Kalithi, an aunt to many and a doting grandmother of Phanuel Baraka Kalithi, Neria Zawadi Kalithi and Ninor Kibali Kalithi.

She attended Kalawa Primary School and later Makueni Girls High School for her 0 – levels. She subsequently moved to Nairobi in pursuit of better future. Her work and career included dedicated at Church Army, Kenya Posts & Telecommunications and later Postal Corporation of Kenya.

Cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home (Machakos) for burial that will take place at Makueni County, Kalawa Sub County, Kalawa Location, Mbukoni Village on Saturday June 2025.

Teresa jackline Ondimu Obonyo

Son of the late Hamson King’ori & the late Esther Wangari Kanyi. Brother of the late Wanjiru, the late Wangeci, the late Nyambura, the late Kanyi,Wambui & Gathitu.

He was grandfather of Keith, Sandra, Stacy, Anne, Barbara, Mercer & Alister.

Father-in-law of Sarah & Irene.

Brother-in-law of Risper, Cecilia, Wairagu, Mary, Muturi & John.

Daily planning meetings are being held at his Kang’aru home from 4:00 pm.

The cortege leaves Mary Immaculate Hospital – Kerugoya on Tuesday, 10-06-2025 at 8:30 am, for funeral mass at St. Joseph Catholic church — Kagio, followed by interment at his Kang’aru home.
