Chathryn Wanja Karanga, HSC

We announce with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will the passing of Chathryn Wanja Karanga, HSC a devoted Christian, esteemed educator, and servant leader.

The late Chathryn Wanja served with distinction as Principal at St. Agnes Kiaganari Girls, S.A. Kyeni Girls, S.A. Kaai Girls – Mwingi, and Thika School for the Visually Impaired. Her lifelong commitment to education transformed the lives of many and left a lasting legacy.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Onesmus and Miriam Karanga of Gikuuri Sub-location. A loving mother of June Mukami and a doting grandmother of Wendo. She was a cherished sister, a treasured auntie, guardian and friend to many, whose lives she touched with grace, wisdom, and kindness.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers and burial preparations at her home in Kiarimui Village, Gikuuri Location, Runyenjes Sub-county, Embu County.

The cortege leaves Tenri Hospital Mortuary – Ena on Saturday, 17th May 2025 at 7.30am for a funeral service at S.A. Gikuuri Primary School, followed by interment at her family farm.

It is with a humble acceptance of God’s will that the Simiyu family announces the demise of our beloved Son and brother Roy Mutuka Simiyu who passed on the 9th May 2025 due to sudden death. ‘

He was the son of Mr Ronald Simiyu and Jacqudline Modani and beloved brother of Jill Mwamba (Turbo)

Grandson of the late Alfayo and Phoebe of Kitale (Mwiba) and John and  Margaret Kanaiza of Mwamba (Turbo).

Nephew of Paul, Benson, David, Dancun,Allan, Jerry, Beatrice, Jessica, Rose, Collette, Catherine, Cynthia, Nancy, Catherine, Joy.

Requiem mass will be held at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church Ruaraka opposite Safari Park on Thursday 15th 2025 at 2:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be held at Legacy Primary School Kibomet. Thereafter final funeral rites at their farm in Naisambu Kitale.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta Univery Teaching and Referral mortuary on 16th May 2025. Burlal is on Saturday 17th 2025 at their home in Naisambu location Kibomet Kitale.

Millicent Njeri Thuita

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the
passing of Millicent Njeri Thuita, who was called to rest on 11th May 2025 in Nyahururu,

Millicent was born on 12th July 1964 in Murang’a, and throughout her life, she embodied joy, generosity, and hard work.

She was the beloved wife of David Thuita Muruthi, and a devoted mother of Fernandes and Sally Muruthi, Eric and Ruth Mwangi. She was a cherished grandmother of Kiyo Njeri, Thayu Thuita, Nuru Njeri and Tata and Cucu of
many more.

Millicent was a treasured sister of Peter and Wambui Mbue, Alex and Agnes Macharia, Evan and Patricia Kanja, Eunice Mwangi, Antony and Marion Kabiru, Joan Maina, and Anne Kiarie.

She was also a sister in-love of Robert and Eunice Ndegwa, Nancy Kagure, David and Beatrice Njoroge, the late Christopher and Margret Munene, Leah Wamahiga and Monica Wangari.

Millicent will be fondly remembered for her unwavering faith and community spirit. She was a dedicated member of the PCEA Nyahururu Women’s Guild, and the proud founder and operator of the well-loved Emms Café in Nyahururu, where she warmly served many with her hospitality and kindness.

We will be holding prayers and funeral planning meetings at:

– Nyahururu – Daily at Jimrock Hotel from 6:00pm.

– Nairobi – Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th May 2025 at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30pm.

The funeral service and celebration of the life of Millicent Thuita will be held on Saturday, 17th May 2025 at PCEA Nyahururu Parish from 10:00am and thereafter she will be laid to rest at her home in Suera – Gatimu, Nyahururu.

Millicent’s legacy of love, joy, and generosity lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Faith Mwende Kiio

It is with deep sadness that we share the untimely passing of our dearly beloved Faith Mwende Kiio on 5th May 2025 at Kenyatta National Hospital. At the time of her passing, she was a staff at Co-operative Bank, Emali Branch,

Faith was cherished daughter of Johnbosco Kiio and Jediddah Syombua.

Devoted mother of Lucky Mumo and Leon Kiio.

The beloved twin sister of Everlyne Keli and sister of Irene Mutheu and Mercy Mueni.

Sister-in-law of Alex Kipsang and Anthony Mwendwa.

Beloved aunt, cousin, in-law, and a friend to many.

She was a guiding light and mentor whose compassion, warmth, and love deeply touched all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.

The cortege will depart from Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home — Machakos on Friday, 16th May at 8:00 a.m.

Albert Kimani Kamau (K.K.)

Son of the late Kamau Karengo and the late Rosemary Watiri Kamau.

Husband of Patricia Ademu Kimani. Father of Matthew Kamau Kimani, Mark Asega Kimani and Samuel Irungu Kimani.

He was the brother of the late Agnes Wanjiru, Florence Nyambura, the late Kanyuko Kamau, Jane Wangeci, the late Mwithaga, the late Charles Irungu Kamau (twin brother), the late Eunice Wangare, the late Agnes Waruguru, Peter
Maina, Mathenge, Gakuru and Patricia.

Prayers are being held at his home in Waithaka. There will be a final meeting today 15th May 2025 at All Saints Cathedral at 4.00pm.

Edwin Michael Kimani (Kayman)

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Edwin Michael Kimani (Kayman) on 12th May, 2025 after a short iliness.

Kimani was an only son of the late Alice Wairimu Kimani. He was also a beloved nephew, cousin, uncle and friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting on Thursday May 15th and Friday May 16th 2025 at All Saints Cathedral from 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Funeral Home on Tuesday, 20th May 2025 for his rural home in Kambaa (Kanyore), Githunguri, Kiambu County for the church service and thereafter the burial will take place.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mzee Meshack Omwenga Nyarangi of Kenyamware Village/Raitigo Settlement Scheme, Borabu Sub County, Nyamira County, on May 4th, 2025, at Better Living Adventist Hospital, Nairobi, after a long illness.

Meshack was the beloved son of the late Jameson Nyarangi and Mama Yunuke Nyarangi. Dear brother of Daniel Nyarangi, Elijah Nyarangi, Hellen juma, Rediah Margaret Masaki, Alice Kibagendi, Jane Menyuri, Florence Mosoti, the late Kennedy Nyabuti, Beatrice Ogembo, Lynette Ondeyo, Skefu Mosoti, and many others.

Devoted husband of Mama Rebecca Bisieri Omwenga and a loving father of Job Mogeni, Deborah Bosibori, Merab Bilia,Anne Kemuma and Charles Bosire.

Father-in-law of Susan Mogeni, Job Arasa, Ben Ogaro and Moureen Bosire.
