We announce with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will the passing of Chathryn Wanja Karanga, HSC a devoted Christian, esteemed educator, and servant leader.

The late Chathryn Wanja served with distinction as Principal at St. Agnes Kiaganari Girls, S.A. Kyeni Girls, S.A. Kaai Girls – Mwingi, and Thika School for the Visually Impaired. Her lifelong commitment to education transformed the lives of many and left a lasting legacy.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Onesmus and Miriam Karanga of Gikuuri Sub-location. A loving mother of June Mukami and a doting grandmother of Wendo. She was a cherished sister, a treasured auntie, guardian and friend to many, whose lives she touched with grace, wisdom, and kindness.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers and burial preparations at her home in Kiarimui Village, Gikuuri Location, Runyenjes Sub-county, Embu County.

The cortege leaves Tenri Hospital Mortuary – Ena on Saturday, 17th May 2025 at 7.30am for a funeral service at S.A. Gikuuri Primary School, followed by interment at her family farm.

passing of Millicent Njeri Thuita, who was called to rest on 11th May 2025 in Nyahururu,

Millicent was born on 12th July 1964 in Murang’a, and throughout her life, she embodied joy, generosity, and hard work.

She was the beloved wife of David Thuita Muruthi, and a devoted mother of Fernandes and Sally Muruthi, Eric and Ruth Mwangi. She was a cherished grandmother of Kiyo Njeri, Thayu Thuita, Nuru Njeri and Tata and Cucu of
many more.

Millicent was a treasured sister of Peter and Wambui Mbue, Alex and Agnes Macharia, Evan and Patricia Kanja, Eunice Mwangi, Antony and Marion Kabiru, Joan Maina, and Anne Kiarie.

She was also a sister in-love of Robert and Eunice Ndegwa, Nancy Kagure, David and Beatrice Njoroge, the late Christopher and Margret Munene, Leah Wamahiga and Monica Wangari.

Millicent will be fondly remembered for her unwavering faith and community spirit. She was a dedicated member of the PCEA Nyahururu Women’s Guild, and the proud founder and operator of the well-loved Emms Café in Nyahururu, where she warmly served many with her hospitality and kindness.

We will be holding prayers and funeral planning meetings at:

– Nairobi – Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th May 2025 at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30pm.

The funeral service and celebration of the life of Millicent Thuita will be held on Saturday, 17th May 2025 at PCEA Nyahururu Parish from 10:00am and thereafter she will be laid to rest at her home in Suera – Gatimu, Nyahururu.

Meshack was the beloved son of the late Jameson Nyarangi and Mama Yunuke Nyarangi. Dear brother of Daniel Nyarangi, Elijah Nyarangi, Hellen juma, Rediah Margaret Masaki, Alice Kibagendi, Jane Menyuri, Florence Mosoti, the late Kennedy Nyabuti, Beatrice Ogembo, Lynette Ondeyo, Skefu Mosoti, and many others.

Devoted husband of Mama Rebecca Bisieri Omwenga and a loving father of Job Mogeni, Deborah Bosibori, Merab Bilia,Anne Kemuma and Charles Bosire.
