It is with profound sorrow and in humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing of Anthony Mike Kibue Gikuhi, formerly of National Bank of Kenya. He rested on March 30, 2025, at Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Nakuru.

Mike was a resident of Milimani Apartments Phase 1, Nakuru, and the beloved husband of Purity Wanja Waigwa of Seattle, USA.

He was the son of the late Francis Mbweri Gikuhi and the late Esther Wangeci Gikuhi. Step Son of Alice Mbweri. He was son-in-law of the late Peter Waigwa Kanja and the late retired Elder Nancy Wangari Waigwa.

A devoted father of Vivianne Wangeci Kibue (Royal Media Services) and Nancy Wangari Kibue, and a cherished father-in-love of Daniel Chege
Mburu (Sanergy Limited).

He was a loving brother of Margaret Wangui, the late Lucy Ng’ang’a, the late Elizabeth Waweru, Agnes Ali, Catherine Kiragu, the late Charles Ndirangu and Esther Wangui

He was a brother- in- law of Beatrice Wangui, the late Moffat Mathangani, Eustace Mwai, the late Watson Wachira, Joseph Kamotho, Priscilla Wanjiru (Seattle USA), the late Hillary Gatimu, the late Kiarie Ng’ang’a, the late Peter Waweru, Ali Mohamed, Matthew Kiragu and the late Rose Ndirangu.

A proud grandfather of Mburu Kamakia Chege, Toria Kibue Chege, Muchoki Ndung’u Chege, Amani Wanja Kibue, and Zuri Wangeci Kibue. He was uncle to many.

Prayers and funeral meetings are taking place at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, on Monday and Wednesday from 5PM, and at home in Mukurwe ini from 5.30pm.

A Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday 8th April from 10.30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Milimani, Nakuru.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday 11th April at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Mukurwe ini. Burial will follow thereafter at home in Ngoru, Mukurwe ini.

With deep sorrow and in humble acceptance of God’s will, the Ashubwe family and Upper Hill School Fraternity announce the passing on of Mwalimu Jane Amisi Ruoroh Ashubwe; a teacher at Upper Hill School.

Jane was the beloved daughter of Aggrey Ashubwe and the late Margaret Ashubwe.

She was a devoted mother of Margaret and Whitney Ruoroh.

She was a cherished sister of Duncan Ashubwe, Vivian Wanimo, Humphrey Katiechi, Dr. Jacklyne Ambunya, and Samson Ashubwe, and a dear sister-in-law of Duncan Wanimo, Dr. Martin Jalemba, and Agnes Nangobi.

Jane was also a loving aunt to the late Isaac, Benjamin, Esther, Joseph, Jane, Catherine, Ben, Sean, Jude, Olive, and many others.

A fundraising will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, from 5:30 PM at Upper Hill School, Nairobi.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the same venue.

The burial

service will be held at her father’s home in Iwanda Ward, Khwisero Sub-County, Kakamega County, on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we, the Mathai Family, announce the passing away of our dear beloved mother Teresa Wairimu Mathai who went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Monday the 31st March 2025.

Teresa was the wife of the late Joseph Tumuti Mathai of Nanyuki, the elder sister of Catherine Ngima Ndegwa and mother of Lucy Mbuchi and late Antony Theuri, Margaret Wambui Mathai, Elizabeth Wangui Moriaty, the late Catherine Ngima Mathai, Prof. Muthoni Mathai and Pieter Pietrowicz, John Wachira and the late Margaret Nduta Mathai, Jaine Waceke and Major General (Rtd) Michael Gichangi, Sera Wathima and Dominic Kosen and Agnes Nyawira Mathai.

She was a Grandmother, a Great Grandmother an Auntie and a friend to many.

Teresa will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community.

The cortege shall leave Nanyuki Cottage Funeral Home at 8.30am for funeral Service at the Benedictine Monastery Church [Nanyuki] starting at 10.00am on Wednesday 9th April 2025 and thereafter she will be laid to rest at her home in Nanyuki [Mathai Farm].

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Q.S. Abner Sanya, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2024 after a short illness.

Born in Gem, Siaya, Abner pursued a life of dedication and achievement, earning his B.A (Hons). (Bldg. Econ.) MAAK (Q’S) from University of Nairobi.As a consultant quantity surveyor and co-founder of Ooro & Sanya Associates, Abner was a true pioneer in his field, contributing significantly to the development of the Quantity Surveying profession in Kenya.

He was a devoted family man, known for his deep generosity and quiet strength. His love for his family was a central part of his life, particularly his wife Abigail, his children Dorothy, Donald and Brenda, and his late mother Mama Doris.

He was the son of the late Festo Owino and the late Mama Doris Wanyangu Owino of Gem Nyawara. Son in law of the late Joel Mukoya and the late Linet Nyandiko Mukoya of Esalwa Bahati Village, Vihiga County.

He is survived by his wife Abigail Sanya of Gem, his daughter Dorothy Sanya Gautier of Maryland, son Donald Sanya of Massachusetts, and daughter Prof. Brenda Sanya of New York. Abner was also a cherished father-in-law of Mark Gautier and Edith Sanya, and a proud grandfather of Matthew Sanya Gautier.

Abner’s commitment to his family and his profession was matched by his warmth and kindness. His generosity touched the lives of many, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday October 10th at 2.00pm.

Abner will be airlifted to Kisumu on Friday October 11, with the burial ceremony taking place at his home in Gem, Siaya on Saturday October 12th 2024.

‘As we remember Abner, we take comfort in his full embodiment of the verse:”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” His legacy of love, faith, and generosity will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Ngari on Thursday 3rd October 2024 at his home in Kiambuu Village, Ngiriambu Location, Gicugu Constituency,
Kirinyaga County.

Phillip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him.

He was the beloved son of the late Cyrus Ngari and the Late Gladys Wanjira, and the cherished husband of Agnes
Kamori. Phillip was a loving father of the late Margaret Wanjira, Linus Mugo, Eustace Gachoki, the late Peris Wambui, Tabitha Wakarie, Simon Nyaga, Eunice Wangechi, Joyce Wanjiru, Mary Muthoni Muriuki, PS-Public Health, Jamleck Munene and Julius Mucira.

He was also a caring father-in-law of Margaret Wanjira, Catherine Wanjiku, Cosmas Waweru, Josephat Mureithi, Jason Nyaga. Agnes Wanjira and Phyllis Njeri all of whom brought great joy to his life.

Phillip will be lovingly remembered as a brother of John Gakono and the late Joyce Waruguru.

Meetings are being held daily at Woodgreen Park, Lavington and his home in Ngiriambu, Kirinyaga from 4.00 pm to 6.00pm to honor his memory, condole with the family and to prepare a befitting send off.

The burial date has been set for Friday 11th October, 2024 at his home in Kiambuu Village. The cortege will leave
Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati at 7.00am for the funeral service at ACK St. Matthew Ngiriambu Church from 9.00 am. Thereafter, proceed to his home for the burial ceremony.

He was a brother of the late Eunice Asao, Noah Omachu the late Mary Naomi, the late Ruth Amanya, the late Susan Shisya and John Ngeresa. He was a grandfather and uncle to many.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on 8th October 2024 in Wanda Village Kwisero Sub-county Kakamega County.

She was the daughter of the late Azoro Chege and Isabel Njeri. Sister of the late George Wainyoike, the late Samuel Macharia, Nelson Kihereko, the late Janet Wambui, Kamau, Kimani, Zipporah, Muigai, and Peter.

She was the daughter-in-law of the late Kabogo Kangethe and the late Elizabeth Njambi.

She was an auntie to many and a grandmother to 11 grandchildren.

Friends and family are meeting for daily prayers at their family home in Nginduri Village, Githunguri Sub County, next to Kiberethi Police Post.

The burial will take place on Tuesday 8th October 2024. The cortege leaves the KU Referral Funeral Home at 8:00am. The funeral service will take place at 10,00 am at her Nginduri residence.
