Rtd. Reverend Evangelist Peninah Noel Osita Asionyi

(1945 – 2025)

It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude to God that we announce the passing on of our beloved Rtd. Reverend Evangelist Madam Peninah Noel Osita Asionyi, who died peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her family, on November 20, 2025. She completed her remarkable and well-run journey from 1945 to 2025.

Madam Peninah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and respected teacher, She was also widely known in her community as a dedicated educator, farmer, mentor, and friend.

She was the beloved wife of Lay Canon Apollo Otemba Asionyi. Madam Peninah leaves behind a powerful legacy through her children: Floridah, Grace, Pam, Hannington, Yunny (of USA), Mercy, and her foster son Daniel Tanga. She was a cherished grandmother of eighteen grandchildren: Sydney, Owen, Lyne Noel, Amon, Melody, Elsey, Nicole, Alvin, Myles, Myra, Kendyll, Quinton, Fortune, Simon, Joe (of USA), Kaelynn, Brighton, Apollo, and Kaeycee Peninah Osita.

She was also mother-in-law of Elphas, Patrick, Caleb, Moses, and Joshua.

Madam Peninah was a loving sister of Isaiah, Peter, Rebecca, Selinah, and Sarah, and was preceded in death by her siblings Silvanus, Mary, Abantus, and Albert.

She was a sister-in-law of Luciana, Semo, Phoebe, Dianah, Judith, Painito, Mary, Irene, and Ruth, and the late Canon Aggrey, Dr. Okila, Beneah, the late Arthur, the late Mathias, and the late Samuel.

She will be deeply missed by the Asionyi’s and the Keya’s families, where she was a treasured aunt.

The funeral service will be held on Friday; December 12, 2025, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at her home in Lugari station, located near the former Lugari Academy.

Nkrumah Yimbo

It is with heavy Hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Nkrumah Yimbo, eldest son of the late Malachi Nyindodo Olende and the late Nancy Nyindodo, stepson to the late Sabina Nyindodo. Nkrumah went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Kisumu following an illness and hospitalization.

Nkrumah is survived by his wife, Linda Nungo. He was the husband of the late Mary Adhiambo and the father of Stephanie Omoro, Abigail Filardi, Leslie Yimbo & Lucky Yimbo. Grandfather of Claudia Omoro. Father-in-law of Brian Omoro & Maximiliano Filardi.

A sibling of the Late Grace Koyo, Esther Norwood, Emily Nyindodo, jaramogi Olende, Betty Mitema, Lilian Gooch, Emma Ambala, Owen Olende, and Mandla Nyindodo.

Brother-in-law of the late William Koyo, Mark Norwood, Emmy Olende, Washington Mitema, Stephen Gooch, and Marvin Ambala.

He was the grandson of the late Lukio Olende, Mama Priskilla and Joan Olende. A nephew of the late Dr Shem Arungu & Rose Olende, Cornelius & Pamela Olende, the late Jessica & Crispus Malit, Japh & Chimmy Olende, John & Penina Olende, and Daniel & Judy Olende. An uncle of many nieces and nephews. And a cousin of many in the larger Ka-Nyindodo, Ngunyi, and Malit family.

Nkrumah was the son-in-law of Leo & Grace Ongongo and the late Tom Philip Nungo & Mama Dereda Leah Amunga.

His aunties are Jane, Mary, Esther and Susan.

Church service will be at AIC Arina Church Kisumu on December 18, 2025, from 11.00 am, followed with viewing of the body at Kwee Funeral Home in Kisumu, from 1.00 pm.

Burial will take place on 20th December 2025 in Kusa village,West Nyakach, Kisumu County.

Friends and relatives are meeting in both his house at Mosque Estate Kisumu and in Olende home in Kusa West Nyakach.

Mrs. Grace Wanjiru Ndirangu

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of our treasured mom, Grace Wanjiru Ndirangu, which occurred on Sunday, 7th December, 2025.

Daughter of the late Bedan Kihara and the late Faith Wangui of Gatondo Village, Karatina. Nyeri County.

Wife of the late Joseph Ndirangu of Nyeri County. Beloved mother of the late Lucy Wangui, Mike and Cathrine Ndirangu of Nairobi. Ben and Katie Ndirangu of USA and Angela and Patrick Maina of USA. Grandmother of Wanjiru, Amos, Andrew, Alex, Ndirangu, Michuki, Kaylah, Maureen and Georgie. Great grandmother of Azriel and Benaiah.

Sister of Pity Kamau, Rosemary Kihara, the late Hellen Mbugi, the late Gerald Muita, the late Samuel Muchori and the late Wanderi Kihara. Aunt and friend to many.

Daily prayer meetings are being held at her residence in Madaraka Estate Nairobi from 5.00pm.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 14th December 2025 from 2.00pm at PCEA Nairobi a West Church.

The cortege will depart from Montezuma Funeral Home, Mbagathi Way, on Tuesday 16th December, 2025 at 8.00am and proceed to PCEA Nairobi West Church followed by burial at the Langata Cemetery.

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Benjamin Kamau Wambugu on 9th December 2025 after a short illness. He was a retired banker and hails from Kiaruhiu Village, Gathaithi Sub-location, Mathira East Sub-County.

Beloved husband of the late Nancy Njoki and the late Jane Wamucii; a devoted father of Irene Wangari,Angela Kamau & Kenyon Watson (USA), and Emmah Christine & Albert Rogito (USA). A cherished grandfather of Ian Moses Kamau, Jay Sabin, Jermaine Watson, Jowenna Njoki, Jabari Kamau and Mokeira Rogito.

Son of the late Isaac Wambugu Wamiatu and Charlotte Wangari; and brother of Helene Wairimu, Alice Wambui, the late Edward Mwai, Priscillah Wangari, Mercy Muthoni, Drs Margaret and Ben Lukuyu, and the late Kennedy Ngure.

He was also brother-in-law of Veronica Njeri.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Mary Wangui Mwangi (Wa Maina).

She was wife of the late Joseph Mwangi Githae (Wa Gakoroba).

Mary was the daughter of the late Moses Githaiga Kimani and the late Eunice Wanjiru Githaiga. Sister of Florence Wakanyi Githaiga, Jane Wanja Muhia, the late Pauline Wambui, George Kimani, Margaret Njoki Njoroge, Hannah Nyambura Kinuthia, Jane Wangari Njoroge,Alice Njeri Ngure and Peter Ndung’u.

Mary was daughter in love of the late Githae Home and the late Mary Wambui, the late Wambui Githae (Muritu) and Mary Wangari Githae.

Loving mother of Edward Maina Mwangi of Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, George Kimani, Simon Kiriungi, the late Moses Njuguna and Richard Muriuki. Mother in love of Lucy Maina, Sarah Kimani and Cynthia Muriuki. There will be a Requiem Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mugumo on Thursday, 11th December 2025 starting 5.30 pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home, Thika Road on Tuesday, 16th December 2025 at 8.30 am for funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mugumo. Interment will follow thereafter at the family home in Mugumo Estate.

Son of the late Lazarus Afwayi and Rebecca Misiribi.

He was the loving husband of Rose Yakhama and father of Lilian, Authur, Kristina, Sandra and the late Wycliffe. Father-in-law of Peter Okutoyi, Faith Afwayi and the late Ruth Afwayi.

He was the son in-law of the late Ezekiel and Zipproah Seddah.

Gladys Wambui Kamau

It is with humble submission to God’s will that we announce the passing of Gladys Wambui Kamau on Saturday 6th December 2025 at Kenyatta National Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Dear wife of David Kamau Mbugua (Kagunda), loving mother of Ruth Mumbi, Margaret Nyaithiru and Samuel Mbugua. Mother in-law of Eng. Kennedy Saroni, Josphat King’ori and Irene Wanjiku. Guardian to Milka Wanjiru and Duncun Mburu.

Her siblings are Samuel Karanga, the late Peter Gakwa, the late Lucy Nyambura, Esther Wanjiku Magothe, Sarah Wanjiru Karanja, Jeremiah Kiniu, Benson Mwaura, Daniel Gitau and the late Joseph Njoroge.

Sister-In–law of the late Joel Ndiba, the late Joseph Mwangi, the late Wilson Ruhara, Hannah Kinyanjui, Elizabeth Nyambura Ngiciri, Ann Muthoni Ajode.
