It is with humble regret that the Mbeo family announces the death of Dr Petronella Mbeo (Pet) of Kenya School of Pharmacy on Thursday 15th June, 2017 at Aga Khan University Hospital after a brave battle with Endometrial Carcinoma.

Beloved wife of Hon. Ochieng’ Mbeo of Mfangano Island, Kakimba, Waware. Devoted mother of Michelle, Dr. Gilbert “Papa” Ochieng’, Dianne and John “Jay” Mbeo all of USA. Daughter-in-law of the late Sen. Shelemiah Mbeo Onyango & Coun. Loise Auma, and Pamela Mbeo of Awendo, Migori. Daughter of the late Mzee John Joseph and Mama Mary Pacifica Odula of Muhoroni. Mother-in-law of Irene Kafeero-Mbeo and grandmother of Marwa Ella and Gilbert Ochieng (Ochi) Mbeo Ill. Sister of Connie Amolo, Vincent Odula, Liz Onyango (USA), the late Fred Odula, the late Meya Odula, Stella Dimba (USA), Caroline Odeny, the late Beatrice Auma, the late Steve Ochieng’ and Charles Omondi.

Funeral gatherings are taking place every evening at No. 10 Argwings Kodhek Road, opposite Radar Security.

A special meeting for family and close friends is scheduled for Thursday 22nd June at the Ruby Cut Gardens, Nairobi, from 5 pm.

Mother of James Kibiru & Nuna, the late Wairimu & Njeri of Naivasha, the late Wambui Mwangi, Hannah Njoki & James Nga’ng’a of Turbo, Esther Wanjiru & the late Samuel Muriithi of Nyeri and Pauline Mwihaki & Bernard Muita Njoroge of Subukia. Step mother of Julius Kibiru & Wanjiru and the late Rufus Kamau & Wanjiku. Sister of the late Beth Wangui Kung’u, the late Gidraph Waithaka, the late King’itha Waithaka, the late Marion Wangare Ngere, the late Leah Nyambura Ngumba and the late Wairutu Tumu. Sister-in-law of the late Wanjiru Njunu, the late Mbaire Wagitu, the late Eunice Wangui Ngechu, the late William Kamau, the late Muchiri Kibiru and Njoki Kibiru Njenga. She was auntie, a grandmother of 45, a great grandmother of 76 and a friend to many. Relatives and friends are meeting daily from 5pm at her residence in Maraigushu Village, Naivasha and there will be a meeting for prayers and support on
Friday from 5pm and Sunday from 3pm at her granddaughter, Ng’endo Karau’s residence in Ridgeways Country Homes where she has been living. The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary, Nairobi on Monday 26th June 2017 at 7.30am and proceed for the funeral service and burial at her home in Maraigushu Village, Naivasha.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at 5.30 p.m at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi from Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd June, and at her residence in WahunduraVillage, Murang’a County.
The cortege leaves Kiriaiini Mission Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 23 June 2017 at 9.00 am for a funeral service atACK Wahundura Church, Murang’a County followed by burial at her home in Kiangumi.

The Director and Staff, Kenya Education Management Institute; wish to announce the death of our colleague, the late Tom Owino Okech; who until his death was a Management Trainer in the Research and Consultancy Division of the Institute. He passed away at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Memorial Hospital in Kisumu on 29th May 2017.
Husband of Lydia Shindoli Owino. Loving father of Eunice Akinyi Owino, Nashon Okech and Tony Owino. Son of the late Nashon Okech Amila and Mama Ludia Owuor Okech. Step son of Debora Nyaoke, Susana Awuor and Theresa Odenyo. Brother of Mahatma Ochieng, Robert Amila Okech, Nelson Ooko, Akoko Okech ,Dorothy Amolo,Phylgona Nyaoke, Miriam Gor ,Rose Okello among others. The body is lying at Star Mortuary, Kisumu.The Cortege will leave Star Mortuary, Kisumu On Thursday 22nd of June 2017, for overnight stay at his Nyakach Home. The burial will take place on 23rd of June at Karabuor, near Kachan School, Nyakach, Kisumu County.
