It is with acceptance of God’s Will that we announce to you the sudden passing on to Glory of Wairimu Nyoike through a short illness.

Wairimu was the first Kenyan African Registered Nurse and first African Matron of Kenyatta National Hospital, amongst many others.

Daughter of the Late Evans Nduhiu and the Late Grace Wamuyu and Daughter-in-Law of the Late Baranaba Nyoike and the Late Elizabeth Mwara.

Beloved Wife of Hon. Kimani wa Nyoike; the loving Mother of Eng. Mwara and Eng. John Mwicha Mwatu (GM, KURA); Chuhi and Eva Naputuni Nyoike (Acorn Special Tutorials); Nduhiu Nyoike and Mercy Nduhiu; Wamuyu Manyara and Manyara Kamau. Doting Grandmother of Wald Amanda, Shawn Ngao, Samantha Wairimu, Kimani, Wairimu, Naimutie, Mwara, Malaika, Kimani, Kiilu, Nyoike, Wanjiru, Wairimu, Njeri and Mwara. She was Sister of the late Rahab Ndirangu, Joram Wachira, Joyce Lyimo, James Change, the late Patterson Kiai, and Ndirangu wa Evans. Sister-in-Law to many.

Family and Friends are meeting at St. Andrew’s PCEA Church, Nairobi on Tuesday (25^th April 2017) and Wednesday (26^th April 2017) evening from 5:30 p.m. and at PCEA Macedonia Church, Athi River from Monday (24^th April 2017) to Wednesday (26^th April 2017).

The Thanksgiving Service will be held on Thursday, April 27th, 2017 from 10 am at St. Andrew’s Church, Nairobi.

It is with a mix of celebration of the Lord’s blessings and heavy hearts that we announce the passing on of our dear mum, sister, mum in law, auntie, cucu, friend and above all, a believer and tenacious fighter for freedom.

Wamutwari was the daughter of the late Luka and Pauline Wairimu Muhia. Sister of the late Michael Macharia, the late Peter Njuguna, Rev. Stephen Muhia & Anne Mwaura, and Joseph & Fidelis Ngugi. Mother of Thomas Mutwari, Mary Wambui, Josphat Mwaura, Elizabeth Wairimu & Jane Muthoni Gakwa, the late Michael  Macharia, Lucy Waithera Chege, Salome Nyambura, Francis Gitau and John Karanja. She was especially cared for by Rose Wanjiru Karanja.

Wamutwari is an auntie to many and leaves behind many tucucus and tucukuru.

Friends and relatives are meeting at St Andrews PCEA Church from 5.30pm on Thursday 20^th and Friday 21^st April 2017. Meetings are also being held daily at her home in Riabai Village, Kiambu County.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan University Hospital on Tuesday 25th April 2017 at 8am for a requiem mass to be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiambu. This will be followed by burial at her home in Riabai Village.

She has fought the good fight. Now she has taken her final bow to rest in eternal peace.

 

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mr Franklin Roosevelt Litondo that occurred at a hospital in Nairobi on Good Friday 14^th April 2017 after a long battle with cancner.

Loving husband of Nellie Atsali Litondo (lecturer Daystar University). Father of Jeremiah Litondo (USA), Mrs Lavender Sungu Nyadenya (USA), Raymond Litondo (Germany) and Anderson Litondo. Father in law of Kate Fischer Litondo, Nixon Ebboyi Nyadenya and Anna Portnyagina Litondo. Grandfather of Andrew, Nattalie, Reina, Felix and Adrian.

Son of the late Rev Timothy Litondo and the late Rev Mama Susie Litondo of Shikunga Village, Ikolomani Constituency, Kakamega County. Brother of Eng John Morrison Litondo, the late Amelia O’bbayi, Rev Joy Okudhe, Paul Litondo, Mrs Mary Altburger, late Martha Litondo and Dr Kate Litondo. Son in law of the late Rev Isaya Eshiomunda Makuku and the Mama Salome Andanje Makuku. Brother in law of Mrs Amina Litondo, Oliver O’bbayi, late Willis Okidhe, late Michael Altburger, the late Dr John Makuku, late Zipporah Bakhoya, the late Jacob Kutswa Makuku, Mrs Mary Buruna, Mrs Adah Musambayi. Nephew of Oliver Litondo. Beloved uncle of Meshack, Hannah, the late Timothy, Ian, Kevin, the late Michael, Nicholas, Steven, James, Charles, Hope, Fred, Ben, Alan, Rawlings, Sammy, Suzie, Browne, Robert, Tony, Lorraine.

Family, relatives and friends are meeting daily at the Litondo’s residence at Suna/Mwaka Estate House No. 3430 along Wanyee Road and Antonios Grill in Nairobi from 5pm for funeral arrangements.

There will be a fundraising meeting on Tuesday 25^th April 2017 at 5pm at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi to offset medical and funeral expenses.

Mother of Moses Zani (formerly of UTC), Elijah Zani (KPA), Naomi Zani (CIP-Nairobi), Ruth Zani-Mwashimba of Nairobi and the late Esther K. Zani. Mother in-law of Lucy Mwamchera (formerly KQ), Catherine (CBK), Hywath (KPA), Suliman (Mt. Kenya Univ.) and Sam Mwashimba (Elsamere). Elder sister of Bakari, the late Mariarnu, Hamisi, Mwanarusi and Nuru. Grandmother of Sophie, Haroun, Carlos, Randani, Chisinyo, Elvira, Chessy, Andrew, Stacy, Kwesi, Mtalaki, Lali, Naema and Vinani among others. Step mother of Josephine, Rose, Kerry, Emily Ndeme, Betty and Ethel. Friends and relatives are meeting daily for funeral arrangements at the All Saints Cathedral from Thursday 20th April, 2017 starting at 5.00 p.m. There will be a major fundraiser on Friday 21st, 2017 at All Saints Cathedral starting from 5.00 pm to offset funeral expenses. Simultaneous meetings will be held at Pandya Hospital,
Mombasa and at her home in Vyongwani, Kwale. The cortege leaves Pandya Hospital mortuary on Friday, 28th April at 9.00 am for a memorial service at St. Stephen’s Church,Vyongwani, Kwale, and thereafter, an overnight vigil at her Vyongwani home. Burial will take place on Saturday 29th April, 2017 starting at 10.00 am at the St. Stephen’s Church Grounds.

Mum it is a year since you waved a sudden goodbye to us. Our hearts still ache with sadness and secret tears still flowing. No one understands what it means to lose you! While we fondly miss your presence, we continue to carry proudly the marks of your impact on our lives. Special thanks to St. Stephen ACK Jogoo Rd, St. Elizabeth ACK Munami,WSTF , Hon. Members of Parliament and Security team from Matungu.
To all those who stood with us and continue to do so, please accept our heartfelt gratitude. May our good Lord bless you abundantly. Dearly missed by Husband Paul Atwa, Daughters: Frida Atwa and Vivian Atwa, Atwas,Tsumas, Injugus, relatives and Friends.
There will be a memorial service at their home in Munami, Matungu-Kakamega County on 22/4/2017 starting at 10:00 am.
