Mary Njeri Githinji

With profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Njeri Githinji, who left us on Thursday, 13th November 2025 while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital. She was born on 25/12/1975 in Mukarara, Kihumbuini Location, Gatanga Sub County.

Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph Githinji Mukaru and Josephine Wanjiru Githinji.

She was the devoted wife of Zacharia Karanja Gitau and mother of Celestine Gitau Karanja and Victor Githinji Karanja.

She was a sister of Peter Mukaru, David Ngutho, Daniel Githiora, Simon Mburu, the late Isaac Karungu, Geoffrey Ngugi, James Gichungu, Florence Wanjiku, and Stephen Mureithi.

She was the daughter-in-law of the late Jacob Gitau and the late Eunice Wangui. Mary’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and the countless lives she has graced with love.

Family and friends meet daily at their home in Kenyatta Super Highway estate, Kenyatta rd, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati, on Friday, 21st November at 8:00 AM, followed by a funeral service and burial at P.I. Makutano, Mwea Sub County, Embu County. Githinji.

Aaron Njuguna Ndung’u

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to heavenly glory of Aaron Njuguna Ndung’u.

Beloved son of Alex Ndung’u Njuguna and Mary Trizah Njeri Ndung’u.

Aaron was a cherished brother of Carol Gitiri Njogu, Alex Mugo Ndung’u, Eric Njuguna Ndung’u, and Michelle Wambui Ndung’u.

He was a loving brother in-law of Ian Njogu and doting uncle of Naila Murugi Njogu and Malia Njeri Njogu.

Adored grandson of the late Hezekiah Njuguna Mwaura and the late Naomi Wamhui Njuguna of Mugumo-ini village Gatanga and Paul Mugo Macharia and the late Hellen Mugo of Gitaro village Mugoiri. He was a nephew and a cousin to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily from 3prn at their home in Ndagi Village, Mabanda, Gatanga Sub-County.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, 22nd November 2025 at 10:00am, at the family home. The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Kahati Funeral Home at 8:00am.

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that the Board of Trustees & Management of Tourism Fund announces the sudden demise of Mr. Kevin Karanja stationed at the Coast Regional Office that occurred on 11th November, 2025.

He was the beloved son of David Macharia and Virginia Thingu formerly of Tourism Fund.

He was husband of Salma Abdul and father of Ayra Karanja. He was son in law of Pili Ali. Brother of Helen Muriuki of Coulson Harney LLP. Brother in law of Timothy Muriuki, Imran Abdul and Ali Abdul.

Grandson of Alfred Karanja, the late Mr and Mrs Samuel Chirah Ngure.

Uncle of Janise Muriuki, Paul Muriuki among others.

Loving cousin of Roger, Kim, Nimoh, Rahab, Sammy, Jennifer, Tony, Allan, Kevin, Jemmy, Sam, Mercy, Cindy, Jasmine, Rodney and Kigun.

Bridget was the beloved and cherished daughter of the late Dr. Jason Eliud Amukonyi and Assumpta Atamba Matekwa.

She was the cherished spouse of Delroy Mwasaru, a loving sister of Bryan Amukonyi and Dr. Kathrin Amukonyi, and a doting aunt of Tijani Hudson Lusiola.

She was a dear daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and niece to many, and her memories will forever remain engrained in the hearts of all her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday 20th November 2025 from 10.00hrs at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.

There will be a fundraiser to off-set medical bills and meet funeral expenses at Saphire Court, Kilimani, off Kirichwa Road from 1700hrs on Tuesday 18th November 2025.

Mzee John Kiboi Muriu

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee John Kiboi Muriu who peacefully rested on 6th November 2025 at 12:15 a. m after a long illness.

Born on 20th September 1936 in Gatundu, Kiambu County, Mzee John was the son of the late Gatama Muriu and Wanjiru Gatama. He was the brother of Ruth Nyambura, the late Ann Wahu and Joshua Maina.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Njeri, a cherished father of Faith Wanjiru, Pia Wambui, and Sarah Nyambura and a loving grandfather of Anisa, Melissa, Anthony, Cindy, Gabriella, Harley, and Isaac.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Family and friends are meeting daily at the family home in Ongata Rongai, Kimandiro at 5 pm. Silas Miheso Andega

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Silas Miheso Andega.

Born in Kakamega County, Shinyalu Sub-location, Lirhanda Village, Silas was the son of the late Charles Andega Mbinjikhane and the late Ezina Andega, and son-in-law of the late Mzee Simon Mugula and the late Mama Recho Mugula.

He was a devoted husband of Margaret Andega. A loving father of Malimo, Shichei, and Mugasi Andega. A proud grandfather of Taylin, Kayla, Dorika, Miheso, Mwenda, and Hazel. His family remembers him for his steady love, quiet strength, and the warmth he shared so generously.

Silas was brother of the late Ayuma, the late Eddah, the late Laban, the late Mugaisi, and of Nathan, Arthur, Alice, the late Jane, and Chris Andega.

He was brother-in-law of Peter Lisamula, the late Masingo, the late Joe Shiluli, Margaret, Linet, Paula, Josephine Andega, Ruth, Azibeta, the late Michelle, Jane, Tom, Adisa, Kenneth Mugula, the late Chegenye, Kisanya, Sigugu, and Rubia Mdegu.

His gentle spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The burial will be held on 22nd November, 2025 at his homestead, Muraka Kakamega.

Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Philip Sulumeti

With deep sorrow, yet in the sure hope of the Resurrection, the Bishop, priests, religious, family, and the entire Christian faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega announce the passing of Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Philip Sulumeti, who went to be with the Lord on 9th November 2025 at 11:00 PM at the Nairobi Hospital.

LIFE AND EPISCOPAL MINISTRY Bishop Sulumeti was appointed bishop on 28th May 1972, and on 20th August 1972, he received his episcopal ordination and was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Kisumu, where he served until 19th March 1976. On 9th December 1 976, he was appointed the Bishop of Kisumu. He served in this role until 27th February 1978, when the Diocese of Kisumu was split and the Diocese of Kakamega was created. Bishop Sulumeti then became the first Bishop of the Diocese of Kakamega, beginning his ministry on 27th February 1978, where he served with extraordinary dedication for over three decades. On 27th April 1987, the Diocese of Bungoma was created from the Diocese of Kakamega, further shaping the ecclesiastical landscape of Western Kenya. On 24th November 2012, the Holy See accepted Bishop Sulumeti’s resignation and requested that he continue serving as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Kakamega until the appointment of his successor. On 5th December 2014, Bishop Joseph Obanyi Sagwe was appointed the Second Bishop of Kakamega, and he was later consecrated on 7th March 2015.

EARLY LIFE: Bishop Philip Sulumeti was born on 15th August 1937 in Kotur, Gara Village, South Teso, Busia County, Western Kenya. He was the beloved son of Marko Ijait Munyana and Agnes Iprong’e Aluku.

SIBLINGS: He was a brother of Cassianus ljaiti Aluku (Rtd Commissioner), Lucia’ Amoit, Rosalia Okode Obonyo, Leminota Atyang, Wilbroda lyese, Judith Amukuje Emayot, Maurice Ikamar, Francis D. lkoki and Romano ljaiti.

IN-LAWS: He was in-law of the families of Rebecca Aluku and Mary Aluku of the Mabachis in Samia. The Obonyos, The Emayotos and The Ekoderes.

NIECES AND NEPHEWS: He was an uncle to many, including: Adv.Ann Aluku, Philip Aluku, Dr. Atwani Carolyne, Irene Aluku, Eucharista Okode, Agnes Aluku, Peter Paul Aluku.
