it is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing on of Wahu Maina, which occurred on 16tr’ January 2026 after a bravely borne battle with illness.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Thiga Maina. Mother of Amy Wanjeri Maina and Enola Nduta Maina. Mother in law of Kenneth Kiriinya, and loving grandmother of Kevin Kaj Kiriinya.

Cherished daughter of the late Samson Mugo Kimani and the late Jayne Nduta Mugo and Mary Enola Kimani,
loving sister of Melvin Kimani, Patricia Wanjiru Kamau and Jack Kimani Mugo.

Sister in law of Elishebah Kimani and Joseph Karnau.

Treasured cousin of the Reuben Wanjihici family of Githumu and the Kimani. She was a cherished relative and friend of many.

The family is currently making funeral arrangements, which will be communicated in due course.

In a celebration of life, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Brigadier (Rtd) Dr. Willis Mayabi, on Saturday, 17th January 2026, in Nairobi.

He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Christine Mayabi and formerly of the late Lorna Mulyanga, and a cherished father of Michael, Leyla, Wilberforce, Marion, Lance, Nancy, Catherine and Tabitha; He was a loving grandfather of Zuri,Amara, Zawadi, Neema, Daniella, Michelle, and Neema.

He was a brother of Melissa, Edith, Wilberforce, Hudson (late), Patrick, David (late), Kenneth, and Jackline, son of Mr. Gershom Mayabi (late) and Mrs. Nerea Obuya (late), and son-in-law of Cornelious (late) and Alice (late). He was also a cousin, friend, colleague, and mentor to many.

Memorial service:Tue, 20th January 2026, 12 noon, All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi Church service: Thu, 22nd January 2026, 2.00 p.m., St. Francis Busibi Church, lkonzo Village.

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the demise of James Kihoria Mburu on 15th January 2026 at Aga Khan Hospital after a long illness bravely borne.

James, was the son of the late Harrison Mburu and the late Mary Wanjiru.

He was the beloved husband of Justine Mary Nzyoka. He was the loving father of Brian Mburu, Kihoria, Isabel Wanjiru Kihoria and Nathan Kimani Kihoria.

He was the brother of the late Veronica Njeri Mburu, Anne Nyambura Mburu and John Gituanja Mburu.

He was uncle of Daisy Wanjiru Mburu and Harry Gituanja Mburu. He was nephew, cousin and friend of many.

He was the son in law of the late Jasper J Nzyoka and the late Rosaita Mbaika Nzyoka. He was brother-in-law of Chris, Chrysanthus, Crispin, the late Joseph Nzuma and Franco.

Friends and family are meeting daily for support and prayers at his home in Kiambu from 4:00PM.

There will be mass on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th January 2026 at their home in Kiambu starting from 7.00 PM.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 9.00am. The Requiem Mass will be at Don Bosco Catholic Church, Upper hill at 10.00AM. Followed by burial at Langata.

Nelson was the beloved son of Enosh Ongosi and Josephine Helena. Beloved brother of Milkah Moraa and Irene Rabera. Brother-in-law of Derrick Koome.

Friends and relatives are meeting at their Nairobi residence in Syokimau Quarry road, and at Gionseri, Nyamache Sub-county Kisii County.

There will be a requiem mass on Tuesday 20th January 2026 at St. Veronica Catholic Church Syokimau at 6.00pm and at St. Jude Catholic Church Donholm on Wednesday 21st January 2026 at 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave Mater Misericordia hospital mortuary on Thursday 22nd January 2026 at 7.00am for Nyamache. The burial will take place on Friday 23rd January 2026 at their village in Gionseri.

She was the daughter of the late Simon Wainaina Karwinu and Rebecca Njoki. She was sister of the late Joseph Karwinu, Scholastica Waithira, and Samuel Wambiriu. She was stepsister of Paul Mburu, Joseph Kibugi, Peter Wambiriu, and Hanna Wambui.

She was mother of Margaret Wanjiku Gitonga, Virginia Njeri Kibue. Agnes Wairimu Njonjo, Samuel Gatacha, Francis Wainaina, the late Bernard Kariku, Fidelis Waithira Waithaka and Catherine Nduta Wagoki.

She was sister-in-law of Priscillah Wairimu Kihiu, Charles Kamau, the late Patricia Nduta Ndichu, and others in the larger Gatacha Kimani family.

She was mother-in-law of the late Paul Gitonga Muchemi, Joseph Kibue Thaiya, Peter Njonjo Kibera, Hanna Nyokabi Gatacha, Scotia Mukami Wainaina,Winnie Njeri Kariku, Francis Waithaka ‘Babu, and Anthony Wagoki Njenga. She was grandmother to 21 grandchildren and great-grandmother to Nyla.

She was aunt to Fr. Emmanuel Ngugi and Long John, among others.

Funeral meetings are being held at the family residence in Kimunyu Sub-location, Gatundu South. The cortege leaves KU Referral KUTRH on Thursday, 22/01 /2026 at 8:00 a.m. Mass will be held at Kimunyu Football Grounds from 11:00 a.m. Thereafter, interment will take place at the family residence in Thiririka, Kimunyu.

Husband of Ruth Nyambura Mwangi. Father of Juliet Wanjiku Kabul, Grace Wambui Kabui, Ben Njuguna Kabui, David & Lucy Ndichu and Joyce Nyokabi Kabul.

He was a much loved Brother in-law of the late Benson & the late Lorna Mbatia, Beatrice Wairimu, Stanley & Damaris Makena, Daniel Mugetha Gateru, the late Jane Wangari Mutiso, John & Esther Thaiya, Nancy Wanjiru Gateru and Julius & Esther Karogo. Cousin and uncle of many.

Sister of the late Jane Wairimu Mwaura, the late Margaret Njoki, the late Julia Wanjiru Karriondo, the late Michael Muhia, Lawrence Mama and Stephen Githaiga Kamondo.

She was a doting grandmother of Vincent, Wayne & Emanuel and aunt of many.

She was the wife of Mr. Juda Makoko Mwadime Kimbio, daughter of Mrs. Janet Manena Mwajala Mwachoo and the late Mr. Hubert Mwanjala Mwachoo. Daughter-in-law of the late Theophile Mwadime Kimbio and the late Teresita Chari Mwadime Kimbio of shimba hills.

A devoted mother of Chari Mwadime & Kihu Karumba, the late Manena Mwadime (Manesh) and Shali Grace Mwadime.

Grandmother of Sere Kirid, Lukundo Ranya,Waweru Mutua, Yuddah Mutua. Hen Kihu, Weza Kihu and Enzi Kihu.

He was husband of Tabitha Wanjiru Wanyangi. Father of John Muchiri, Jane Wambui, Zipporah Wangui, James Kungu (James Wong), Alice Wanyangi, Samuel Kamau, Naomi Wangari, Moses Wanyoike.

The late departed peacefully on 9th January 2026 after a long illness.

Burial arrangements are being held at his home Karugo Village Kagwe Lari Sub-location Kiambu County and Thika Road Quiver HQ next to Alcapone from 5.00 pm daily.

The body will be removed from KU Referral Home on 16th January 2026 for burial rites at his home Karugo Village Kagwe Lari Sub-county the same day.
