Beloved son of the late Eric Naphtali Obingo and Millicent Akeyo Obingo, step-son of Phoebe Obingo. Son-in-Law of the late Pastor Dan Owuor Agweny, and the late Dinah Obiero Owuor.

Husband of Barbara Christabel Owuor, father of Levi Obiero, Israel Obingo, Canaan Owuor, and Sandra Akinyi.

Brother of Emilly, Benard, Antony, Billiard, Jedidah, Eciaphine and Paul; Christine, Felix, Linnet, Caroline, Isaiah, and Winnie.

Brother-in-law of Dickson, Grace, Pauline, the late Caroline, Jesse, Spencer, Agnes; Paul Odongo, Eng. Edward Acholla, Phillip Nyadida, Margaret. Emilly, Lynn, Geoffrey Waga, Eddah among others.

Bob was the immediate former Principal of Lang’ata High School, and previous long serving Principal of Hospital Hill High School, and senior teacher at Buruburu Girls High School. He was known for his generosity, empathy, and unwavering devotion to family, community, and education_

There will be a fundraiser on Saturday 11th October from 3,00pm at AIC Milimani Church to cater for Bob’s hospital bill and funeral expenses.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday 15th October at AIC Milirnani Church from 11.00am.

Bob will be laid to rest at his some in Kawere Village (Nyabondo), Nyakach Sub-county, Kisumu County on Saturday 18th October 2025.

The cortege leaves Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital on Thursday, 9th October 2025 for overnight vigil. Burial will be on Friday 10th October 2025 at her home in Keroka, Montine village.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr Fred Masibo Simiyu, PhD, HSC, formerly the Ag. Director, Research and Trade Policy Analysis Directorate, of the State Department of Trade. Daktari rested on 26th September 2025 at 00:45 am, while undergoing treatment at The Nairobi West Hospital.

He was the loving husband of Teresa Masibo, headteacher Sirende Comprehensive School and beloved father of Brian, Ian, Joy, Marilyn, and John.

Daktari was brother of Phillip Simiyu, Peter Simiyu, Noah Simiyu, Geoffrey Saratuki, Seline Wabwoba, Josephine Sikhoya and Caroline Simiyu.

He was brother-in-law of John Wechuli, Edward Wechuli, Rose Wechuli, Mary Wechuli and others. He was uncle, colleague and friend to many.

The body will be transported from the Nairobi West Hospital Morgue to the family residence in Wehoya Farm, Sirende, Kitale on Friday, 10th October 2025, where he will be laid to rest on Saturday, 11th October 2025.

1987 – 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend, Olive Kaigongi Ouko on Monday October 06 2025.

Olive was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Ouko and Dr Jennifer Riria. Beloved sister of the late Kathy Makena and Denise Kemunto Nkatha, and a devoted mother of Damien Kimathi and Leylani Musindi.

She was a loving aunty of Sheena, Ivy, Kevin, and Luca and a loving niece, cousin and friend to many.

Comfort meetings are taking place at the family home in Muguga and at the Lavington Uni

A memorial service will be held on Monday 13th October 2025 at Lavington United Church Nairobi.

The final celebration of the life of our beloved Olive Kaigongi is scheduled for Tuesday 14th October 2025 at the family home in Muguga.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

The National Land Commission fraternity announces with deep sorrow the demise of Simon Kipkoech Chebii (Soya) which occurred on 30th September, 2025, after a long illness. Until his demise he was the Commission’s County Coordinator for Trans Nzoia County.

The late Simon Chebii was the son of Ernest Chebii and Catharina Chebii. He was the son-in-law of Mr and Mrs Paul Chemweno Kapchesoo.

He was the beloved husband of Esther Kangongo Kipkoech. Father of Cynthia Jepchirchir (Iten), Kelvin Kiprop (KMTC), Millicent Jemwetich, Yvonne Jesang (TTC Baringo), Meshack Kipkurgat (Tharaka Nithi University), Martha Jepkemoi (Ziwa Technical College), Lynne Jelimo (Sitotwo Primary School) and Caleb Kipkirui (Tophill Academy).

He was grandfather of Joy, Keziah, Flavian, and Ivan.

Brother of Mwalimu Jackson Chebii (Terikmoi Primary School), Mwalimu Timothy Chebii (Kapsiw Primary School), Andrew Chebii, Caroline Chebii (National Registration, Bureau, Keiyo South), Madam Fridah Chebii (Kiptoim PriMary School), Madam Dorcas Chebii (Loboen JSS) and Bernard Chebii (Longitude Finance — Nairobi).

Family and friends are meeting at his home, Kaplangau Village, Sangurur Sub-location, Koibarak Location, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Burial will be on Saturday 11th October, 2025, in Kaplangau Village, Sangurur Sub-location, Koibarak Location, Marakwet West Sub-County in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mama Salina Were Olweny (Nyar Nyabondo), which occurred on 16th September 2025 after an illness bravely borne.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Lucas Onuong’a Mbote and the late Persilla Ogolo Onuong’a, and the devoted wife of the late Japuonj Gilbert Olweny.

She was a loving mother of the late Pamela Wendo Onyango, Edwina Achieng Oduk (Rtd. Teacher), Hesbon Olweny (Thika Cloth Mills), Pauline Ochingo (Joyland Special School, Kisumu), Grace Adhiambo (County Government of Kisumu), the late Douglas Odhiambo, Herca Awino (Entrepreneur, Kisumu), Carren Akinyi Aduwi (Director — NuPEA), Comm. Hon. Noel Olweny (County Assembly of Kisumu), and Clarice Atieno (County Government of Vihiga).

Mama Salina was a doting and supportive mother-in-law of the late Ibrahim Onyango, the late Patrick Oduk, Rebecca Harambee, Daisy Otieno, Riphath Ochingo, the late Kennedy Oduor, Benson Owano, George Aduwi and Zachary Abok.

A fundraiser to support funeral expenses will be held on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, at the Kisumu County Club, starting from 3:00 p.m. Family, friends, and well-wishers are warmly invited to join and support the family during this time.

Family, relatives, and friends will converge at Avenue Hospital Morgue, Kisumu, on Thursday, 16th October 202S, from 12:00 noon. The cortege will leave at 2:00 p.m. for a funeral service at St. Meshack’s Fellowship Church, Osiri Kudho, and thereafter proceed to her family home in Kano, Kobura, Masogo, Kachola – Kisumu County for a night vigil.

She will be laid to rest at her family home on Friday, 17th October 2025.

He was a brother of the late Johana Koskey, the late Stanley Koskey, Andrew Koskey and Emily Kirui.

He was also a stepson of Alice Tigoi and a stepbrother of John Koskey, Richard Koskey, Charles Koskey, Geoffrey Koskey, Renny Koskey and stepsister of Margaret Tigoi.

He was a father-in-law of Weldon Cheruiyot, Joseph Tonui, Paul Chirchir, the late Florence Chepkemoi, Luvuno Chai Lunganzi and Milcah Koech.

He was a proud grandfather of Amon, Trevor, Nicole, Cheruto, Ryan, Natalie, Shania, Natasha, Neville, Andy, Kiprono and Kimutai.

The cortege leaves Coptic Hospital Funeral Home Nairobi on Thursday 9th October 2025 at 7.00 am for overnight stay at his home in Rongena, opposite Lorna Laboso Memorial School, Sotik, Bomet County. He will be laid to rest on Friday 10th October 2025

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s divine will that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Paul Kiprono Langat (AIG), which occurred on Wednesday, 24th September 2025.

Mr. Langat was a beloved son of the late Joseph Koros and Selina Koros.

He was a devoted husband of Margaret Langat and a caring father of Dennis Rono, Mercy Chelangat, Gilbert Rono, Carren Chepkirui, Brian Rono, and Angela Chepkemoi.

He was a proud father-in-law of Immaculate Rono and Brenda Rono, and a cherished grandfather of Willy Muria, Wangoi Natasha, Laurance Kimutai and Adrian Kiprotich.

Mr. Langat was a loving brother of Judy Too, Jane Konuche, Regina Korir, Charles Langat, Alphonce Langat, Philip Langat, and Josphat Langat. He was also an uncle, grandfather, and cousin to many family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

The family and friends are currently holding daily prayers and making arrangements at his residence in ltembe, Bomet County, as they mourn this great loss.

The cortege will depart from Umash Funeral Home in Nairobi on Friday, 10th October 2025. A requiem mass will he held on the same day at Don Bosco Catholic Chapel in Nairobi, after which the body will be transferred to his home in Bomet County.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 11th October 2025. at his home in Matipso, Itembe, Bomet County.

As we bid farewell, we find comfort in the words: “Life’s race well run, Life’s victory won, And now, eternal rest!”

She was a loving wife of valuer Brayan Maneno Egondi and devoted mother of Dylan Maneno and Brandon Maneno.

She was cherished daughter of Hezekiah Melli and Esther Melli of Kapsang, Ziwa. Loving sister of Gilbert, Daisy and Ivy Melli.

She was a daughter in law of James Maloba Egondi and Wilfrida Egondi of Choi, Sisenye area, Budalangi Busia County. She was a sister in-law of Regina, Lydia, Charles, Catherine, Michael and Gloria Egondi. A niece, cousin, auntie and friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Sirikwa Hotel at 5.00pm for prayers and moral support.
