The burial date is on Tuesday, 14th October 2025. The cortege will leave from KU Mortuary (Thika road) then head to Kiahiti Village, Kigumo Sub-County, Murang’a County where he will be laid to rest.

She was wife of the late Benard Mbatha and last-born daughter of the late Sia Mawa and the late Serah Wanza Sia, daughter-in-law of the late Nthambi & Stephen Nguli of Kavumbu, Masii Machakos County.

Beloved mother of Ruth Mbatha-Oughton, Francis ltumo Mbatha & Pauline Mbatha, Eunice Wanza Kuria, Moses Mbatha, David Mbatha & Jackie Ngare and grandmother of Sophie, Kevin, Matthew, Diane and Natasha.

She was sister of, Magdalena Mbaika Ngumbi (of Makindu). Deacon Nelson Kimuluu, Rebecca Mbulwa Kinyingi and the late Agnes Mwati Kyengo. She was a cousin, aunt and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Nairobi Baptist Church on Tuesday 7th October 2025 & Wednesday 8th October 2025 and at Good Shephard Church (Multi-Purpose Hall) on Thursday 9th October 2025 at 5:30pm for prayers.

Johnson Korir was the loving son of the late Mr. Kipkorir Chepkwony and Mrs Grace Tapkigen Chepkwony (Kapkongeluk) of Kitoben Village, Chepakundi, Olenguruone. Amato Ward, Kuresoi south sub- county, Nakuru County, Kuresoi Sub County.

Johnson was husband of Mrs. Dorothy Sigel Korir (Rt Col. Meshak Birgen – Kapsichoi). Father of Robert Korir (Catherine – Muiruri), Angela Korir Musyoki -(Musyoki) and Noah Korir.

He was a brother of Rosina Kuto (Giraeng) Patrick (Pauline- Kapsato), Stanley (Emily – Kapchemurtoi) Jairo (Caroline – Kapkipng’erichi), Mary (Gabriel), David (Dr Alice Kones – Kapyorya), Peter (Grace – Kamatelong) Josephine (John – Kapsolit) Susan (the late Daniel- Kapchombir) and The late Ezekiel.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr Irene Adhiambo Ochieng, which occurred on Sunday, 28th September 2025, at Nairobi West Hospital.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Joab Daniel Ochieng and Mama Sybil Ochieng of Congo Village, Gem Sub-county, Siaya County.

She was the devoted wife of the late David Lutaaya Kivumbi of Katikamu, Uganda and a cherished mother of Michael Mitanda and Michelle Lunkuse. She was mother-in-law of Veronicah Khatundi and grandmother of Miles Mitanda and Dahlia Mitanda.

Dr. Irene was a sister of Henry Ochieng, Margaret Omolo, Dan Olewe (late), David Omondi (late), Penina Misore and Ben Ochieng (late).

She was sister-in-law of Lucas Omolo, George Misore, Dinah Otieno, Dorcas Olewe, Lilian Owino, Sam Ssembatya, Ruth Najemba, Smock Kivumbi, the late Dan Kivumbi (late) and Rose Kivumbi (late). She was an aunt and mentor to many.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, 13th October 2025, from 2:00 p.m. at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi.

The cortege will leave Nairobi West Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday, 1 5th October 2025, for the burial service, which will take place on the same day at her Mutalia home in Machakos County.

Anthony Tom Oluoch (MP Mathare Constituency), Christine Angela Adeno, Cecilia Akinyi (State Department for Irrigation) Raphael Wariero (NT-IAD) and Sarah Adhiambo (The Edge Life Skills Consultants).

He was son-in-law of the late Joseph Celestine Mariwa Gek and the late Susilia Aomo Gek.

A major Harambee towards funeral arrangements will be held at his home on Sunday, 12th October 2025, starting at 2:00 PM.

His body will be collected from Aga Khan Mortuary on Thursday, 16th October 2025, at 12 noon. A requiem mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Kanyakwar from Friday, after which the body will be taken to his home for overnight vigil.

Burial will take place on 2.30pm, 17th October 2025, officiated by the Rev Father in-charge St. Paul’s Catholic Church, supported by St. Paul’s Church choir, CMA and CWA. The funeral service will be held at Uzima Universiry grounds–off Mamboleo Junction (On Kisumu-Kakamega road).
