It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Mbutei Gota, of Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Headquarters who departed this life peacefully on October 02, 2025.

Son of late Gota Munyuko, and late Margaret Wambura from Kiandieri Village, Kimandi Sub-Location, Kirinyaga Sub-County, Kirinyaga County.

Peter was a dedicated husband of Margaret Wangechi Mbutei Gakuya, and a devoted father of Rita Claire Nyambura Mbutei, Patience Gathoni Mbutei and Late Mary Wanjiku.

Burial preparations are taking place every day at his home in Saika Estate, Nairobi and Kiandieri Village, Kimandi Sub-Location, Kirinyaga Central Sub-County, Kirinyaga County.

He was blessed with six grandchildren namely Marcus, Moziah, Marvin, Myah, Kyra and Alfred.

He was the son in-law of mzee Amos Kegode and the late Karen Kigunyi. He was the brother in-law of Edith Ketenyi, Janet Kegode, Bernard Amata and Jescah Kegode.

He was a brother of the late Renson Oyangi, Epainitus Kibanda, Nelson Angombi, Jescah Mulusa, Zebedayo Kisaka, Janet Adisa, Saphan Magana & Caleb Kibanda, Kennedy Kisia and Betty Angombi.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 8th October 2025 at 1pm at Friends International Center (Quakers) Church Ngong Road.

The body will leave the family residence in Donholm on 9th October 2025 morning for Kitale. He will be laid to rest on Saturday 11th October 2025 in Kibomet — Forest Village, Kitale,Trans Nzoia County.

Born on 20th June 1994, Era was a devoted husband of Doreen Mwendwa and a loving father of Ivan Mutethia.

He was the cherished son of the late Paul Kirema and Teresia Gakui, and a beloved brother of Nathan, Ken,Antony, Lilian, and Alex.

He was son in law of Jeremiah Miriti, Elizabeth Nkatha and Triphosa Gacui. He was a brother-in-law of Faith, Linnet, Sally, Purity, Kirianki, Karim’, Kathomi, Gakii, Mutura, Ken, Murangiri, Karambu, Maingi and Lily.

He was an uncle of Alex, Celine, Stacey, Junior, Rayallen, Trizah, Susan, Brian, and Nillan.

Engineer Kirema served with great dedication and humility in the County Government of Meru, where he earned deep admiration for his commitment of excellence and service to the community.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, 10th October 2025 at 12:00 PM at All Saints Kaliene Catholic Church, followed by burial at his family home in Mikinduri.
