The Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Mother God [SFIC] announces the sudden death of Sr. Susan Kajuju Thiruaine which occurred on Sunday 4th January 2026.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley M’thiruaine Gituma and Jennifer Ciongondu. Sister of Martha Mwonjiru, Margaret Mwonthea, Joseph Mwenda, Salome Kanuu, John Ncubiri, Catechist Dorcas Karimi, Onesmus Thuranira, Peter Kabuita, Monicah Gakii and Lawrence Mugambi.

Prayers and daily Masses are being held at 5.00pm at Mother Teresia Van Miert Spirituality Center, Mukinduri Garden, House 503 Langata.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Langata at 2.00pm today, 9th January 2026. On 11th January 2026. The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home followed by the Requiem Mass at Langata, Mother Teresia Van Miert Spirituality Center, Mukinduri Garden, house 503 at 3.00pm.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Langata on 12th January 2026 at 10.00am. Burial will follow at St. Austin Cemetery Msongari.

Carolyne was the beloved daughter of the late Hon. Zephaniah Kipkebut Chepkonga, Grace Kobilo Kipkebut and Grace Kabon Chepkonga. Caro was a beloved mother of Kelly Kaptuiya Kiplimo. A cherished Sister of Steve, jane,Alice, Hillary, Renison, Pamela, Florence, Judy, Frank, Jeremiah, Emmy, Irene, Shirley, Gladys, Eng. Gregory, and Evans.

She was a dear Sister-in-law of Margaret, the late Paulo, Zachary, Dr. Winnie, Chepkemoi, Cheserek, James,Tony, Euginia, Doreen, Robert, Eng. Kibet, and Lincoln.

Caro was a cherished niece of the late Mzee Naftali and Mzee Japhet, and on her maternal side of the late Gideon, tree late Charles, and Ezekiel of the Kapchemwetich family.

She was also a cousin of Sylvester, Nicholas, Ezekiel, ulius, Kenneth, Evans, and many others.

Carolyne was a loving aunt of Ronoh, Chepyegon, Ken, Shirlyne, Ian, Mandela, Rodgers, Mujivane, Aquele, Lenny, Ethan, Abby, and Ciru among many others.

Family and friends are gathering for meetings and prayers at the family home in Kingoi Village -Kaptum, Ossen location daily upto Friday 9th January 2026.

Son the late Veronica Anyanga Opindi and the late Opindi Lubanga and the devoted husband of Julia Epwoka.

He is survived by his children Caroline Okutoyi, Leah Mukoma, Isaac Lubanga, and Ruth Nyamusi and was preceded in death by his daughter Racheal Mukonia. He was a loving father-in-law to Rosemary.

Dear brother of James Opindi and Beatrice Namawa, and a brother-in-law of Florence, Emily, Isabelle, George and Rodgers. He was preceded death by his siblings Phoebe, Mary, Chiteri, and Aura and by his brothers in law Atiti and Oyamo.

He was a proud grandfather of Natasha, Austin, cousin of the Okutoyi, Khatikhwi and Omusebe families, and a beloved uncle of many.
