It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mrs. Margaret Atieno Opondo, which occurred on 21st August 2025 at Siaya District and Referral Hospital.

Margaret was the daughter of the late Raphael Ng’ong’a Omitha and Domitilla Ng’ong’a of Matera, Alego, Siaya.

She was the beloved wife of Mr. James Opondo Odero. A loving mother of Lilian (Zena), Alfred, Mercy, Tonny, Vincent, and Tom.

Sister of Peter, Mathews, Edna, Thomas, Josephine, Roselynn, Wilson, Eunice, Bernard, the late Gertrude, Judith, and the late Everlyne.

She was a loving grandmother of Shantelle, Channey, KJ, Hymie, Zuri, Nailah, Misher, GG, Erick, jaimie, Shirinelle, Arriana, the late Alma, Megan, Amalia, and Joriel.

She was a cherished daughter-in-law of the late Paul Pius Odero and Mama Anna Odero.

Beloved mother-in-law of Paul, Christine and Miriam. Sister-in-law of Rose, Patrick, Stephen, Erick, Grace, Elizabeth, Maureen, Ruth, and Charity.

She was a cousin of Rosemary, Josephine, Elizabeth, Leertylline among others.

The burial date will be on 20t September 2025, at Siaya, Nyagondo.

Beloved wife of the late Mr. Henry Kinyara Kinyua. Mother of the late Rosemary Nyamwitha Mwangi and the late Pastor Moses Mwangi Maina; the late George Kinyua and Wendy Wanja; Gladys Njeri and (Hon.) Geoffrey King’ang’i; Catherine Wanjiru and Paul Kung’u Kimani; Eric and Lucy Wathoni Ngwiri; and Alex and Elizabeth Muthoni Karanja.

She was a loving grandmother of Peninah Wanjiku Kinyua, Henry Kinyara Kinyua, Hellen Muthoni, Rosemary Nyamwitha, Andrew Maina, Dr. Lorna Wamuyu, Andrew Mugane, Wendo Kibugi, Henry Wainaina, Kimani & Wairimu Kung’u, Emma Wambui Ngwiri, Peninah Wanjiku Ngwiri, Henry Kinyara Ngwiri, Jonney Ngwiri, Eli and Zoe Karanja.

She was sister of Margaret Nduta Ngwiri and was preceded in death by her siblings Nelly Waithera, Obadiah Thiong’o, Milkah Ndeki, Simon Njoroge, Andrew Thande, and Anthony Niihia.

She leaves behind 10 great grandchildren.

She was sister-in-law of Simon Gakuru and Mary Wanjiru, the late: Evanson Karanja, Brown Muturi, and Paul Thiongo.

She will be dearly missed and remembered for her unwavering faith, generosity, and service to the community.

Family and friends are meeting daily at 4:00 p.m. at her home off Mukoma Road, Karen, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Wednesday, 24th September 2025, at 8:00 a.m. for a funeral service at ACK St. Matthew’s Church, Hardy, Karen, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the burial at the funeral burial site in Gitoka, Kangemi Village, Nairobi County.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Owuor Korwa of Misiwi Sub-Location, East Karungu Location, Nyatike West Sub-County.

He was a devoted husband of the late Veronica Owuor and of Elsa Akoth Owuor, and a cherished father of Dr. Yvonne (USA), Fiona, Imelda, Fidel, Lucy, and Jeff.

Son of the late Ibrahim Orwa and the late Consolata Orwa. Joseph is survived by his siblings Rev. Dalmas, Dick, Khillence, and Miriam. He was predeceased by his siblings Peter, Margaret, Monica, and Dorothy.

His body will leave St. Camillus Mission Hospital Mortuary on 18th September 2025 and he will be id to rest on 19th September 2025 at his home in Aringo Village.

Bancy Wanja Wachira was a beloved daughter of Robert Wachira Ndung’u and Naomie Wanjiku Wachira. She was a cherished sister of Maryann Wangui and Liam Ndung’u.

She was a niece of Thomas Kiama, Sarah Wanjiku, the late Benadatte, Niaomie, Alex Ndumia, Joyce Wangari among others. She was a cousin and aunt to many.

She was a granddaughter of the late Charles Ndung’u Kiama and the late Mary Wangui Ndung’u and the late Joseph Ngondi and Tabitha Wanja.

She was a student at Mount Laverna-Kasarani.

The family and friends are meeting daily at Outvest address Lounge at Membley from 6.00pm daily and at their rural home Muirungi village.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Tuesday 23/09/2025 at 8.00am for funeral mass at Muirungi village, Gathera Sub location, Chinga, Othaya Sub-county starting from 11.00am.

Wife of the late Mzee Daniel Mburu Njonge. Mother of the late Elizabeth Wambui, Sarah Njeri, Gerald Njonge, Evans Kamau, Priscilla Gathoni. George Kioi, Jane Njoki, the late Anne Wairimu, Esther Wanja, Peter Mwaura, the late Mary Wanjiku, Esther Mburu, Samson Mwaura and the late Francis Nyamu.

Mother-in-law of Edward Kariuki, Samson Wanjogu, Benson Kibugi, Peter Karobia, Chris Mwina, Tabitha Waithera, Caroline Njeri, Jecinta Wanjiru, and Ruth Njeri. Sister of Peter Mwaura Kariara and Francis Nyamu. Grandmother to 46 and great grandmother to 26.
