He was the loving husband of Grace Wangari Njuguna (formerly TSC), father of Oscar Njuguna (Sun King), Joy Linda Wanjiku Wambugu (KRA). Father-in-law of Diana Muiru (Multichoice) and James Wambugu (Thika Greens). He was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Hakim Moustapha Njuguna Batambula, Maya Grace Wangari Njuguna, Levi David Maina Wambugu and Gilan Leo Wambugu.

He was brother of Col. Rtd. Ernest Mwangi, Alexandre Githinji, the late John Maina VVakianda, Mary Murega, Dr. James VVanyoike, Robert Mucunu, the late Pharis Muhika, Peter Mburu, Henry Ngugi and Kenneth Kimani.

Brother-in-law of Edith Nyambura Kingori, Bernadette Muraya. EvaWanjiru Kinyanjui, Purity Wangui Gitau, John Ngiabi Muraya and the late Samuel Gichigo Muraya.

The cortege leaves KUTRH Funeral Home (along Eastern Bypass) on Saturday, 30th August, 2025 at 7:30 AM for the funeral service and final internment at the family home in Kilimambogo (Ol Donyo Sabuk), Kyeleni Sub-location, Machakos County.

It is with profound sorrow and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing on of our beloved Ms. Beth Wangari Kathuku after a short illness.

Born on 20th March 1984, Beth was the cherished and beloved last-born daughter of Mr. James Kathuku and Mrs. Winne Wangui Kathuku. She was a loving sister of Major Michael Kariuki, Esther Njahira, and the late Peter Junior. She was a dear sister-in-law of Mrs. Catherine Njeri Kariuki and a devoted aunt of Tito Yak, Michelle Kariuki, the late Josiah Kariuki, Joshua Kariuki, Katricia Kariuki, Nyanut Malual, Shawn Kariuki, Bryson Kathuku, and many other nieces-and nephews. Beth was also a cousin, a friend, and an aunty to many—including the Kagwanjas—all of whom cherished her deeply.

Fondly known as “Liz”, she was full of life—loving deeply, laughing easily, and touching countless lives with her kindness and cheer.

Prayer & Fellowship Meetings will be held at the All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi on Friday, 29th August 2025 – 5:00 p.m, Monday, 1st September 2025 – 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 2nd September 2025 – 5:00 p.m.

Burial service & interment service will be held on Thursday, 4th September 2025 at the family home in Ndeiya, Limuru Sub-county.

He was the son of the late Abisae Ouya Oleic and the late Margaret Orengo, both of Kasagam.

He was a beloved husband of Maureen Omuga, loving father of Allan, Winnie, Robert, Washington, and Mdos, and a cherished grandfather. He was also a caring father-in-law.

He was brother of Otieno Kabisae, the retired Senior Chief Samuel Ochieng, Peter Ornondi, and Penina Atieno; cousin of Joseph Ouya of Nyamasaria Primary School, the late Walter Ojeje, Salome Adhiambo, and Rose Adhiambo Omondi; and brother-in-law of Rose Otieno, the late Benter Ochieng, Pamela Ochieng, and Judith Okoth

Charles served faithfully at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) until his retirement in 2020. His distinct voice and dedication left an indelible mark on the nation, and he will be fondly remembered for touching lives through his work.
